Calling all writers, its your time to shine and write your hearts out. I want you to make up your own fantasy world or take it from a book or movie and write about it. Include a new type of magic or like I said before something from a book or movie, this can be as long as you want but as long as I'm able to read it with much interest; well maybe under 10,000 words. I don't care about detail and dialogue and stuff like that, I want the plot to be intriguing.

Sorry if this is asking for too much, I thought it would be nice to make a contest like this. So please enjoy yourself while you write, don't rush and make this great. And always have fun!

The prompt is mostly self explanatory. Simply describe or explain to me, in any way you would like, what fall/autumn means to you. Describe how it makes you feel, why you love or hate or don't care at all for it. Make me feel and understand your perception of fall , make me see fall through your eyes. This can be directed at any aspect of the season, any event within the season, anything you want at all.

I will be judging on grammar, imagery/description, syntax/sentence structure, and the emotion you convey through your words. I will also take like counts into consideration, but likes will ultimately not be the deciding factor.

Simply put, I want to hear what fall means to you, in as much detail as possible.

Time for another round of Show, Don't Tell!

The word this time is...

SCARE!

1. To fill or be filled with fear or alarm.

2. To drive away by frightening.

3. An older meaning: 'To scare up'; find, gather, or obtain with effort.

We go by the usual rules: the entry can range from a wee paragraph to a drabble, play around with the meanings, use all 5+ of the senses - and, of course - DO NOT write the chosen word in the entry! For an extra challenge, try to omit some common synonyms like frighten or intimidate, as well!

Prizes: The top three places will receive a drawing from me inspired by their entries!

How does your protagonist experience fear? Do they feel stiff or tense? How loud and fast does their heart pound when trying to collect something? What's the risk that circles in their heads if they fail? How badly does every touch jolt them?

Once upon a time there was a group of writers.... they faced off their dragons and woke the princess, they lost their shoes and begged a fairy godmother for directions to the fairy palace.

What do I want you all to do?

Write me a fairy tale of course!

Re-write an old one with a new twist, or write me a new one! What consists of a fairy tale to you?

Let's try to stick to a 1000w limit because fairy tales were once oral.
