Hello! I'm back again for another contest. This time around, the contest is inspired by different time periods within history. Be it England during the Victorian Era, the Ming Dynasty in China, history has aided our world into what it is today.

For this contest, I want to see a creative story within different time periods, it doesn't matter what it is. The only thing is that it cannot be after the year 1980 (though there is an exception for time travel stories). The point of the contest is to expand your mind to think in a time period you are unfamiliar with and make me believe you actually lived in that time period.

Word limit: 2,500 minimum and 3500 words maximum

Please provide music or image of your chosen time period!

Hello everyone! I've been thinking about doing this contest for a while now. Basically, what I want you to do is write a short story based off your favorite piece of music. It can be any genre of music, it doesn't matter. Sophia and I will be judging you based on character, plot, grammar, and creativity. Wow us with your musical stories!

Rules

1. Word limit: 1500-2000 words

2. It must be based on music.

3. Write a paragraph at the end of your story detailing why you chose that song/piece for your short story.

4. One entry only. Repeat entries will result in disqualification. No exceptions. Let's give everyone a fair chance :-)

5. Nothing too offensive. No blood, no gore. Let's try to keep it as clean as possible.

Write about a character who is stuck with a mental disability, any kind, and try to picture them as vivid as you can about how they go on with their lives. It must focus more on their disabilities, and not the characters around them. How you describe the story is all up to you. Is it a positive story? Is it a negative story?

Rewrite a story in any genre! I want to hear your version of a story you've grown up hearing or just thought was interesting! It can be a fairytale/folktale, a ballet, a song, or any other type of story you can think of!

Edit: Since I've recieved 4 questions about what is acceptable source material within the last 24 hours, I just want to make it super, extremelyclear that you can write about anything you want. Anything at all. Only rule is that it has to be a retelling of something. Your options are practically limitless. :)

1.Please refrain from retelling any well-known Grimm/Perault stories: Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow white, etc.

2.Word Count is unlimited! Go nuts!
