As I sprinted towards my only hope of survival, I noticed the starship was smoking.
I had little to no concern, because at this point I was going to either get inside and die or die outside from suffocation.
The starship was red and white, with black areas for engines at the back plus an aerodynamic design. It looked more like a plane without wheels than anything else.
But when I got in, there was no smoke or fire inside. Instead, I watched as the starship sprung to life with errors. I was then contacted by the star ship, answering the call that had been left.
It was the starship itself talking to me now, as the Radiant Pillar told me the locations of materials for the ship.

Except, I gathered the resource I needed to make a hermatic seal almost instantly from containers next to the starship. Three red ones gave me approximately thirty condensed carbon, an upgrade to normal carbon and the required material.
This meant I had all the materials that I needed for the di-hydrogen jelly, carbon nanotubes and hermatic seal. I just needed to make a refinery from oxygen and a metal plating.
I know metal plating costs fifty ferrite dust, meaning I'd have to get busy again whilst battling the elements. I'd need another fifty as well for an equal amount of pure ferrite.
I'd also need thirty oxygen, so once my hazard protection was up, I kept near the starship and got to work. There was a supply of oxygen plants nearby thankfully, but only a couple; this was enough to last a short while only.
I then went mining for ferrite, which brought me further away. I also attempted to gather sodium as I searched for hazardous plants, dodging them as I went. They too would give me oxygen but wow, those things hurt to step on.
I took my time as I searched and scanned materials around me, mining plenty of ferrite dust and returning to my starship every so often to restock on hazard protection. I was glad the systems inside the cockpit were at least semi-functional.
It did not take me long however, so I stopped back at the starship only a few times at most. I then got to work, realising I had not gathered that much carbon. Thankfully, the basic refiner which I assembled hastily did not need too much carbon for this job, and it only took a minute extra to generate fifty pure ferrite.
So then, I went back to my starship to repair my pulse engine and launch thrusters, the two most valuable assets to any starship. That and the shields are extra important.
And then, I hopped in my spacecraft. I engaged the launch thrusters, and I took to the skies.
But I did not leave the atmosphere. Instead, I discovered I could gather more resources quickly by using my weapons to destroy the ground; that's exactly what I did.
I mined and I mined. I chipped a few days away just mining and doing resource gathering, before I decided to take to the stars days later.
But the exploration of the planet via flying was far from dull.
