Today is Saturday and I will be taking Celine to my home. I called Richard and asked him if he could take us. Luckily, he said yes.
Ring, ring.
“Hello”
“Hey I’m outside now.” he spoke through the phone.
“Ok we’ll be there in a minute.” I cut the call. “We have to go now, he’s outside.”
“One minute” she quickly applied some lip gloss and brushed her hair.
“You don’t need to do anything, my mom will love you as you are.” “I mean she already glazes you so.” She chuckled.
“Ok, I get it. Let’s go. Wait, did you call a cab?”
“No, my friend is picking us up.”
“Oh who is it?”
“Um-you can see for yourself.”
When we got outside, her jaw dropped.
“No effing way. Your friends with Richard White.” I quickly covered her mouth from screaming.”
I reached the car first.
“Hey pumpkin” he kissed my cheek.
“Hi” I switched my attention to Celine. “This is my friend Celine. Celine, Richard.”
“Hi” she smiled cheekily.
He smiled at her and her cheeks turned rosy red.
“Let’s go.”
* * *
“Hi mom” I gave her a hug and Richard followed suit.
“Hi Mrs. Brown.” Celine said.
Mom looked at her then gave her a big hug.
“You can call me Raina.” she gestured for us to sit down.
“You’re not staying?” she asked Richard
“No, I have to go to work. See you later.” he gave her a kiss on the cheek and left.
“Aw that’s too bad.” she muttered.
“Hey, can I see Julie?”
“Go bring her Hannah, I wanna talk with your friend.” she winked at Celine.
I walked into my baby girl’s room to find her wide awake playing with her stuffed elephant.
As soon as she saw me, she started giggling as she tried to leave the crib.
“Mama, mama.” she made her grabby hands signaling for me to pick her up.
“Hey little girl.” I cooed, wiping off the saliva dripping from her mouth. “Someone wants to see you.”
She started fidgeting in my arms and I put her down.
She crawled over to the door leaning on it for support while walking downstairs.
“Little missus is here.”
“Say hi Julie.”
“Hi” she walked over to Celine, looking at her, she started giggling as Celine picked her up.
“She likes me.” Julie started touching all over her face. A habit she does when she meets new people.
“You are so cute, do you know that?”
Mom and I went to the kitchen leaving Celine and Julie behind.
“I like your friend.” Mom started.
“Me too.” I placed some chips and crackers on a plate and placed them in a tray. I added some drinks and Julie’s baby bottle filled with grape juice.
I placed them on the coffee table in the living room.
“Mama foodie.” she walked over trying to take her bottle.
“You hungry.” she nodded.
She started talking a bit and knows how to say a few words.
She also understands English pretty well too.

The day went by quickly. Leaving was the problem because Julie started crying and I started crying too cause i didn’t want to leave either. Celine on the other hand couldn’t wait to come again and I was happy that I had a happy family after a long time.
“Your mom is so pretty and nice.” she smiled her eyes holding a glint of sadness.
“Are you okay?” she shook her head, tears about to burst out.
“Hey” I pulled her into a hug comforting her. “Don’t worry you’re okay.”
I pulled out of the embrace staring at her.
“Do you wanna get some ice cream?” she smiled and nodded her head.
We walked a couple blocks down the street to the store.
“How long have you been here?” she asked
“About a year and a half. We left after my dad, you know.”
“Oh ok.”
“You?”
“Ever since I started working for Dante which technically is forever.” she chuckled.
“Dante scares me.” she looked at me then burst out laughing.
“What’s funny.”
“Nothing.” We walked in comfortable silence. “He isn’t when you get to know him. He just went through a lot growing up. Watched his mom and dad die. Only has a sister and two older brothers.”
“I never knew he had siblings.” she shrugged
“They come by almost every day.” She looked at me.
“I don’t know, maybe I’m not so attentive.”
“Is that it?” she pointed to the next building.
“Yep.”
“Hey Hannah, what can I get for you and this lovely lady here today?”
“We want ice cream.” I shifted my attention to Celine.
“What flavor do you want?”
“Strawberry.”
“Two strawberry ice creams.”
“Coming right up.”
He pulled out two ice creams from the fridge and handed them over. I paid and we left.
“Now, how do we get home?” she said. “Let me check if Richard is available.”
“Still can’t believe you know him personally. You got a lot of tea to spill.”
* * *
“Bye girls.” We waved back at Richard.
“Bye” we said in unison.
We went straight up to our room and called it a night.
