We are detectives.
It runs deep in our blood, from person to person. Our name is famous, very famous, and there is a lot of pressure. Though, to be honest, my family almost never fails. We are the best, but there is the top, the best of the best, the crème de la crème. That is I, Julianne Lisha. I have inherited every skill needed to solve a crime. I am a prodigy, at the age of 16.
We are trained to be detectives even from a young age, at a few months old. Most children are read fairy tales to sleep. My family is different. We are read mystery books, preferably Sherlock Holmes. We take extra school courses at home, our learning material is years ahead of our age. We learn to fight, both mentally and physically. We are taught how to interact with people, how to separate ourselves or blend in.
I prefer to separate myself, to be a lone wolf. I hardly ever talk to anybody. Instead, I stay back and analyze the people around me, their characteristics. I know everything about them. Yet, they know nothing about me... I'm alone, but I'm not lonely. I rather enjoy the solitude, the peacefulness. Besides, if I had ever gotten attached to somebody, it would just make it harder when I have to say goodbye, for me and them. So, I keep my distance. It was always this way... Until he came, that is.734Please respect copyright.PENANAbZXBbLfRFE

It was just a normal day, everything was going en route. I was left alone, in my seat in the corner of the room, with no one sitting next to me. The bell rung, and our homeroom teacher, Mrs. Valdez came in. Somehow, the atmosphere felt a little different, and I knew something was coming. I knew it the moment she opened her mouth.
"Class, today we will be having a new student. He is a transfer student from another school," She looks to the door, "Apollo, please come in."
The door opened, and a seemingly average boy walked in. Everything about him was average. Average hair, average clothes, average way of walking.
He opened his mouth, and even more average came out. He gave an introduction any high-school student would have gave, "I'm Apollo Imogene. Pleased to meet you!"
He smiled, and continued on... At least he seemed friendly. I heard quiet, scattered whispers throughout the class, and I knew it wasn't praise. They had noticed the same thing I had. They weren't very excited about him, but they did the same thing they would normally do at lunch. They gathered around him, asking him questions, though it was blatantly obvious that it wasn't very interesting and that they were only doing it for the courtesies. Day by day, one after the other left, and soon, perhaps in a week or two, he was alone. He became a loner, like me. The only difference is, unlike him, I don't mind.734Please respect copyright.PENANAwD33rPpeLx

There's a spot under a certain tree that I just love - the right amount of shade, a cool breeze, and far away from noises. I would go there afterschool everyday to sit and read a book, but today is different. There's some construction going on, and due to it, I am distracted from reading. I sigh and decide to go sit and read on a bench today, or until that annoying construction is done. I found a good enough bench, better than the others. It was surprisingly clean, and under a little shade. My only problem was that there was a certain someone sitting on the other end of it...
Apollo.
He just sat there, staring ahead, his hands folded on his lap. He looked lonely, scared... No. His face didn't hold an expression. It was just... Empty.
He finally noticed me when I sat myself into the other corner of the bench. He moved over to his side a bit, and went back to his normal expression. I shrugged it off and read my book, though I sneaked occasional glances at him. Now, when I looked over him, he didn't seem blank or lonely, just nervous. I continued to "read" my book a bit more, until finally, "You're not lonely?"
I glance at him, "Excuse me?"
He shrugs, "You're always off by yourself all the time. Don't you get lonely?"
I sigh, "No, not necessarily. I quite enjoy the solitude and peace, whereas, in a group, or even with a single person, chaos may arise. Haven't you ever thought of it that way?"
He looks off into the distance again, "I guess not. But... Don't you ever feel left out or something?"
I think this over quite a bit, "No. I still enjoy things people our age do today, the same exact ones. The only thing is, I've learned to do it," I pause, looking for the right word,"... Independently."
He sighs and says, "Well, I've gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow in school..."

"Oh, okay. Julianne."
And that, was how I officially met the person I came to trust with all my life, no matter how foolish it was.734Please respect copyright.PENANAvDmJpEZhwr
