Bambina'sPOV
Why am I so stupid? Why did I tell Aiden to meet me in our old spot? I don't even know what I was thinking. Aquarius swims with me to the spot I usually go now. How am I supposed to explain to him that I'm going to see Aiden?
Will he be mad? Probably. I wouldn't doubt any anger would come out.
But, he can't be too mad at me because Aiden is only an old friend. Besides I'm with him now. He should trust me. Its not like anything has ever even happened with Aiden and I.
Besides, I just want to know why he would lie to me. No, that's jelly fish. I NEED to know why. It's been eating at me for the past two months. He was my best friend. And, friends don't lie to each other. Especially about their happiness.
So, I guess we weren't best friends like I thought we were. Anyway, how could he be my best friend? You're not supposed to fall in love with your best friend.
Right?
These were the thoughts running through my head as I made my way back to the laundromat. Even now, six hours later, I'm afraid to tell Aquarius about my meeting with Aiden. But, as his girlfriend, I know that its the right thing to do.
Like I said before, he can't be mad at me for meeting up with an old friend. He's my boyfriend. Not my father. Its not like he can tell me I can't. He can't stop me either way unless he secretly gets legs at dusk as well.
Haha. That'd be something, huh?
I make my way down to the beach and slip off my clothes after searching around me for any unknown person. Just like every morning, my legs become a tail and I swim down to meet Aquarius.
He smiles when I'm in his view and he swims over to me, kissing my forehead.
"I missed you." He tells me.
I smile back at him. He's really sweet. I can only wish I could reciprocate his feelings for me. I should be able to fall in love with him. So why can't I get over Aiden already so that I can?
Maybe after tonight I'll get some closure and everything can fall back into place.
I'm going to be a mermaid for the rest of my life, I have to stop loving Aiden. He's a human and he's probably dating Darcy. I'm only hurting myself by going tonight. But, I have to.
Because I need to know.
"Aquarius, do you think we can talk?" I ask.
He nods. "Of course, Princess. But, can it wait? We need to be somewhere."
I'd rather get the talk over with but, I'd rather him not be distracted. And I don't want to argue about it right now.
"Sure."
Smiling, he grabs my hand and we swim to his home. Aqua was swimming around excitedly when we swam in.
"Bambina!!!" She yells.
I laugh at her silliness. "What's got you so happy?"
She smiles. "I met someone. His name is Mako and he's soooo cute!"
I smile, happy for her. But, at the same time, we come here everyday. Where is it that we need to be?
Aquarius kisses my cheek before telling me he'll be right back and we could get going. I nod at him as he leaves the area. I must have been staring off into space because the next thing I know, Aqua is watching me with concern.
"Are you okay, Bambina?" She asks me.
I clear my throat before nodding at her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just really wanna talk to Aquarius about something." I admit.
She raises an eyebrow in curiosity but doesn't ask anymore questions. But, she does smile at if she knows something that I don't.
I wanted to ask her about it but just as I open my mouth, Aquarius comes back.
"Ready, Princess?"
He grabs my hand and we swim away from their home. It felt like forever before we finally get somewhere. The place he brought me was incredibly beautiful. There were fish swimming all around, lights were shining in all directions. It looked like something just put off a story book.
"It's beautiful." I will Aquarius as I turn to look at him.
He smiles as he runs the back of his hand down my face.
"So are you, princess." He says pulling me closer. "I love you, Bambina. So much that it hurts. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Have children with you. I want nothing more than your happiness. When I first saw you, I knew that I needed you. I knew that you were the mermaid for me. Then, of course, Aiden got in the way. I can't even tell you how much happier I am now that that human is no longer in the picture. I would've accepted it, heartbroken of course, but I'm so glad that I don't have to. I guess what I'm trying to get at is, Bambina, will you do me the honor of being my wife?"
I was shocked. All words refused to escape my mouth. I didn't know what to say. I know that he was waiting for an answer and I know I was obligated to give him one. But how was I supposed to? Could I say no because I haven't fell in love with you yet? Would he be mad at me. Would we break up? I'm trying. I want to live him but I can't force myself to love someone. It took me awhile to realize I love Aiden. I any just turn those feelings off and direct them to someone else. He's going to hate me.
"I..." Can't. Is what I wanted to say. But instead, what comes out of my mouth was. "I saw Aiden a few hours ago and I told him to meet me at our old spot tonight. I'm so sorry."

I felt bad for the words that came out of my mouth but what was worse was the look on his face. He was angry. And he had every right to be.
