~~~~~KATIE'S POV~~~~~
I looked at the paper to ensure that it was 400 I saw. When I looked at it,I then realized that 400 was his votes while 276 was mine.I quickly left the stage so as not to embarrass myself in front of the whole school.
I searched for Melissa through the crowd but I couldn't find her. I asked around but no one seemed to have seen her. I wondered where she went to because she loved to be among the crowd because then she was less noticed.
'All students should go to their classes'the principal announced and the students hurried to their respective classes.
Melissa and I had only Math's class together and it was the last class today. I headed to class hoping to see her during maths class. I couldn't accimilate what was taught because I kept on wondering if she was alright. I ran straight to Maths class immediately the bell was jingled.
When I got there,she wasn't there which got me worried because she always comes early since Maths was her favorite subject and it gave us time to chat.I sat at our usual seat my eyes anxiously glued on the door. The teacher soon came in and there was still no trace of Melissa. Unable to sit through worry that squeezed my heart I left.
I walked home quickly wishing she was home and wondering where else she could be. The thought that she could be at our usual spot under the large tree in the cafeteria ran through my mind. I ran back to school and into the cafeteria. The bench under the tree was empty. I ran to the library,her favorite place in the whole school but she wasn't there either. I also checked the gym,the laboratory and the infirmary but she wasn't there.
At that junction,I was sure she would be at home. Sincerely,I convinced myself she would be at home because I had no idea what to do if she wasn't and what to tell mom and dad and even little tom. I headed home again walking as quickly as my legs would take me. With the gate few feets away, my heart began to beat faster like my world was about to turn upside down. Getting closer I realized that the gate was ajar. An image ran through my mind making my heart fall.
