I could see Azalin tense up, but he didn't say anything to her. He was too focused on his work, I'm sure he is upset that I'm going to be out late today. Nox knocked on the front door and entered wearily, "I retrieved the supplies that you requested master." Uqia grinned, "give them to Azalin, they are a gift from me." Azalin took the bag from Nox and set it beside his desk, "thank you. I will look over them later." Uqia frowned at that, she looked at me and furrowed her brow, "so Gray, you make all of Azalin's deliveries?" I nodded as I made my cup of coffee, "yes, he doesn't like to leave the house very often." She pouted, "that's a shame, I was hoping we could have a picnic this afternoon Az." Did she just call him Az? She then turned to Nox, "why don't you help Gray with her deliveries so Az and I can have some alone time?" He nodded silently and looked at me pleadingly. I sighed, "as long as you don't mess up any of them up like last time." Alice cleared her throat to remind us that she was there, "you do realize that I can't leave this house, right?" Uqia scoffed, "then we shall have our alone time upstairs." I had to fight the intense urge to rip her head off, I can't make a scene if she is related to the king. I quietly drank my coffee while clenching the cup so hard that my knuckles were white.

Azalin quickly finished everything and gave me the bag once I was ready to leave. I sat on our bed and crossed my arms, "so I'm supposed to deal with the forceful familiar while you're stuck here all day with her." He threw his arms up in the air in frustration, "do you think I like this?" I shook my head, "no, I know that you hate this. We now have to sneak around in our own house." Azalin cast a spell around the room to allow no sound to escape. He leaned his head against mine touching our foreheads together, "hopefully she won't be here when you get home. We haven't had a lot of time to ourselves." I giggled, "we're always so busy." He rubbed his chin, "maybe I should steal her picnic idea." I kissed his nose, "I think the village would freak out if you left the house." He stood up and put his hands on his hips, "they can get over it, if I want to take my woman on a date while another woman tries to steal me then I'm going to." I put my arms around his neck, "I love that you can still be positive with all this madness." He planted a kiss on my lips, "I know that no matter what I'll always love you." I kissed him again, "and I will too." I know he can't take care of the situation the same way he planned, we have to make sure the letter is true.

It was a nice sunny day that would be lovely to leisurely enjoy, but I was stuck with Nox having to tag along. "What do we have to do now?" he tried to lean over my shoulder to look at my list. I pulled it away, "Kain has a lot of medicine so I'm going to take care of him next." He grumbled to himself, "of course we have to go see another guy, as if I didn't have to compete with the mage." I turned to him, "what was that?" He stammered, "nothing. Just thinking out loud."

We shortly arrived at Kain's family farm. I could hear his mother's cough before we even made it to the door. I looked to Nox before I knocked, "please behave." He sighed, "of course." I knocked softly and just a moment later Kain answered. I could hear Nox muttering something behind me, but I couldn't make out the words. "We brought everything you asked for, " I held out the box that Azalin had packed. He let us enter and I went straight to his mother's room. Kain looked Nox up and down, "I don't think I'm familiar with you." Nox rolled his eyes, "haha, I've never heard that one before." Kain held out his hand, "I'm Kain. It's nice to finally meet another familiar." Nox smirked and took his hand to shake it, "its nice to meet you too."

They stood in the living room with their arms crossed, until Kain broke the silence, "I can give you some tips on how to win Gray over." Nox grinned, "I'd really appreciate that. But why would you help me?" Kain shrugged, "I've known Gray all my life, and she has done so much for my family. I want her to be happy, and I know that by law she can only marry another familiar." Nox nodded, "so what do you suggest?" Kain rubbed his chin, "first I'll tell you what she likes. She likes lilies, cats, chocolate in her coffee, and strawberry cake. She hates cinnamon, the smell of mint, and rain." Nox made a mental note of everything he said, "I think my master may have discovered one of the things she hates. Miss Uqia always puts cinnamon in her coffee." Kain grimaced, "thats the best way to get on Gray's bad side." They continued to plan out what Nox should say.
