Hello everyone, im Kisita, but you can call my Kristy Or Krissy, and today il be talking about the controversy of AAVE. Maybe some of you don't know what AAVE is, so I explain. AAVE, or "Blaccent" is the short term for African-American Vernacular English. For those who don't know what vernacular means, it means a language or dialect used by a country or religion. In this case, race.
(For those who still don't understand, the internet calls it a Gen z language. So do whatever you want with it.)
Now, a question that will play a big part in this presentation is where does AAVE come from?
AAVE was born on the southern plantations of the United States, where Africans were enslaved to work. Many slaves who were brought to America (and other countries) learned English through their slave masters (Remember) and used AAVE to communicate with other slaves. Of course, the pronunciation is different, with some people dropping the r or just changing the words in general.

Now, why did i chose this subject?
The reason I chose this topic is that it's a topic that I feel isn't really talked about, and when it is, it's always that black people are just protecting human rights. author, or just keep something that isn't even theirs.
And as someone who grew up speaking that dialect, I'm often ashamed because when I do, people just say I'm bad at talking, or just trying to impersonate personalities I see online. , or simply to be labeled as a choice.
So I chose this topic because I actually saw this in the classroom and in the community, and to shed some light on this topic which is indeed of great importance to me.
Hope to see you for section 2!
