OHSHC is a popular anime in the community, and while I enjoyed the book/show and its premise, I also have a lot to settle with. Much more than the good qualities he has. But I narrowed it down to my three main reasons. These are the reasons why I don't like OHSHC.

For starters, I don't like the OHSHC because the story writing is weird. It felt like there were a lot of plot holes. But, let me clarify, when I say plot holes, I mean big parts. There was a lot of important information that we only received halfway through the series instead of the first episode! And the things they call important? Well, they had nothing to do with the story, it never progressed or developed at all! But the most heinous crime they committed, aside from the plot holes, was the character writing. Which brings me to my second argument.

Second, the characters. I feel like the author of this comic had an idea. By delimiting these characters. I believe she didn't have their personalities but she had one thing on her planning paper. Is that is to say the stereotypes. Let's take a break and talk about the female lead, Haruhi. Haruhi is a stereotype and a typical main character, a “self-inserting” type if you will. She looks cool and uptight. And that's all the author wrote. She feels very plain and nothing is special about her. Nothing about her captivates me. And I find it weird. See, it doesn't matter to have a self-inserting character, it just doesn't captivate me! He has no personality, no quality, just a girl who is cool. She has no passions, she has nothing. All the other characters interest me more than Haruhi! The other characters have passions, and objectives. They are also more fun to watch! But Haruhi? I feel nothing for her, just anger.

Finally, my last reason is romance. Could it be because I wanted her to be with another character (I'm going to call her H), or because I hate the person (I'm going to call her T) she's with? But I think she had more chemistry with H. Haruhi and T, to me just seems to strain, it smells like plastic plus romance. With H it feels more natural and calming. It was also funny! Maybe it's a bit stereotypical, but the way it was written seems more realistic, or, on the contrary, T is just rich and he thinks about who his father is. That, I also think is a bit disturbing. To think you are the father of your husband.

To wrap up my reasoning montage, OHSHC is a classic, but even if it's a classic, I don't like it because of the bad writing, characters, and romance. Maybe this opinion piece changes your mind when you think about these books, or maybe not. But, thanks for reading me.
Goodbye !
