Prologue
The man ran down the hall panting and cursing under his breath. He ran as fast as his short legs could go. He clutched his large bag in his hand, careful not to drop it in his haste. As he rounded the corner he nearly bumped into a hulking giant. It was Draco, the captain of the royal guard. The small man straightened his vest and the two of them continued on their way to the throne room. When they arrived the two of them were let into the throne room by the two guards. They kneel in front of the large throne where their queen sat. Her white hair was pulled back into a beautiful hairstyle and her elegant flowy robes were adorned with small crystals. Next to her stood a tall young man. He was very fit with long black hair. He was wearing a well fitted suit. “ Hello Claude, '' said the lady. '' What news have you for me " Claude, the small man lifted his head slightly, sweat dripping down his brow. “ my queen.” he said, his voice shaking slightly? “ the darkness is spreading. It may be slow for the time being but it is for certain that it will consume everything in its path. He is using the time it has till it reaches the capital to make it grow stronger.” the queen nods her face solemn and sad. She turns to the man next to her. “ my son what do you think” she asks. Just as he was about to reply the doors to the throne room swung open and a old man wearing white robes walked in. He bowed to the queen before taking his place next to Claude and Draco. “Welcome head priest “ the queen says nodding in his direction. She then turns back to the prince. “We should consult with the head priest,” he says. The queen nods motioning for the priest to come forward. “ how can we save our world, head priest” she asks. “ my queen, there is one way” he says. “ I came here today to inform you that in the human world there is a human with the ability to see our kind. They are the only ones who can save our people.” The queen nods deep in thought. The other officials whisper and discuss between themselves. After a moment’s of thought she spoke addressing her subjects. “ Draco I want you to ask the head priest how you can find this human. We need their help to stop this darkness” Draco nods and he and the head priest head out to discuss their plan of action. The queen releases the rest of her officials. Once everyone has left and it’s just her and her soon the queens face falls. The prince places a hand on her shoulder, stabilizing her. “ let’s hope that what the head priest said is true” she says sighing as she rises from her throne and heading back to her living quarters. The prince stays behind for a moment before he too returns to his room.
