Let's talk about... the third issue of "The Hunt of Hart and Stag"532Please respect copyright.PENANAZho1FlVLE8
Things got weird between our two protagonists at the end of chapter two, let's be honest. Practicalities aside, Jet's getting vulnerable and it's making him talkative. The dude's bound to say something to mess things up with Ceros. He's got instincts when it comes to these sorts of things and he knows his Wordsmithing is gonna drive a stake between them unless he brings it the fuck up and puts to rest any issues Ceros has with this fact.532Please respect copyright.PENANAeoH3nCqhOc
So, awesome. Jet's gotta GD plan, but he's still feeling like things are going too smoothly... Hm. Might just be what he ate last night, but he's got a weird churning in his stomach...532Please respect copyright.PENANAD25Vrrt3RG
So what's next? Well, they're aiming for Coarsnorth in chapter three, where they're gonna enjoy some fish and chips, delightful lady company, and a nice/warm reprieve under the eves of an actual building (yay for indoor plumbing). Coarsnorth is a staple Pheonon country, so there are steelworks and industrial marvels to behold. 532Please respect copyright.PENANAnpW4yVOnej
That means taking the freaking tram that runs towards the capital, and enjoying all the luxuries that entails for the next five days instead of riding along at a snail's pace by horseback. Along the railway, I'm sure we'll learn all the more about our characters and their--W-What? That's not gonna happen? Shit totally goes sideways?532Please respect copyright.PENANAbfEXOsjn2a
Of course. When are Jethro Kasey's instincts ever wrong, after all? 532Please respect copyright.PENANA8WgL467MjJ
A rash of criminal one-armed men have turned up in Coarsnorth and Ceros's weirdly-shaped, bandaged arm has put him under a bit of scrutiny from the local guard. Luckily a little flash of his tattoo will get him out of the little binds, but it's not gonna be long before people start asking the real questions. Like, "What the fuck is Sirah Ceros Fellen doing in Coarsnorth when he's clearly been announced at every court hearing in Pheo for the last four weeks?" and, "What the fuck happened to Sirah Ceros Fellen? I totally thought he was a hunk and, you know, not a total mangled-looking mess..." and (most importantly - to the tune of "Yanky Doodle"), "Is that Ceros Fellen come to town/ riding on a donkey?/ WTF's he stuck in his cap?/ That lordling's clearly wonky." (Ceros Fellen keep it up, Sirah Ceros--Dandy! Mind the guardsmen and the--you get it...)532Please respect copyright.PENANAwTRjgEjW6K
Not to worry though, Jethro's got them instincts. He's not about to let them apprehend the only lead he has in finding and rescuing his current bounty head, Lady Katherine Fellen - if you'd forgotten her. He'll get to the bottom of the one-armed men problem, lickity split! Or, you know... unearth more unanswered questions that beg him to reevaluate his obviously overrated qualifications... Why did Chief Glass choose him for this mission? And why won't the Hawk Shades answer his inquiries? 532Please respect copyright.PENANAolPDUxAUbr
If things didn't seem like a set up in chapters one and two, they certainly will by the end of chapter three. See you guys next Monday with the release of "The Hunt of Hart and Stag" - "3 - A Rash of One-Armed Men"!532Please respect copyright.PENANAjFPlWivjqx
