One day there were five friends their names were Jessica, Katie, Kristen, Lauren, and Emily. Outside it was a stormy afternoon and they had to stay inside and hang out so they decided to go up into the attic of Katie's house to see what they could find to play with. When all of a sudden a strong wind came in through an open window and blew a sheet off of an old fashioned doll house that belonged to Katie's great great great grandmother. The doll house was hand painted so they were extremely careful not to chip the paint while they used it. Then next to the doll house Jessica found a box of old fashioned dolls that the clothing matched the style of the house so they figured the dolls went with the doll house. And that was the very beginning of the doll house murder mystery.
That night all five of the friends had a sleepover at Katie's house and brought the mysterious doll house up to Katie's mom Jackie asking why it was in the attic and why they had never seen it before but Katie's mom would not awnser their questions except by saying why were you up in the attic in the first place, it is not safe up there.
The next morning while Kaie's mom was still asleep all five friends went up into the attic to check on the doll house only to find out that the dolls were not in the same positions they were in the night before like the man was on the bedroom floor the woman was on the kitchen floor the little boy was in the living room and the teenage-like girl was back in the box. when the friends were done playing the afternoon before they had put all of the dolls in bed until the next day so they all thought that one of them had come upstairs in the middle of the night and moved all of the dolls around but they thought wrong. Yes the dolls had been moved but not by any of them.
It turns out that the doll house was a replica of Katie's house and the dolls represented Katie's great great great grandmother, great great great grandfather, great great grandmother, and great great grandfather. and the truth about why the dolls moved were still a mystery to the friends but not to Katie's mom when they told her, because when Katie's mom was a kid like them she found the doll house with some of her friends and they found out the dolls always return to there own positions every night to try and get people to listen to the story of the parents which was due to the daughter's ex-boyfriend who was mad at her parents for making her break up with him in the first place.
The first person to actually listen to them was Katie's mom Jackie but she truly did not understand what they were doing so she just thought it was her brother trying to trick her during the night but it turns out she did some research on their murders and found out that the killer was never caught thanks to inability to contact his family
That was when she started the search for her grandmother to see if she could help with the search for her ex-boyfriend but she did not know what Jackie was talking about because she had been told her parents died in a car crash caused by a drunk driver. so all of this had been news to her so she had been no help back then. But maybe now it would be a different story since she had found out what happened to her parents. But maybe it would be the same since Katie's great grandmother was in a nursing home due to the onset of altimers, a form of slow recession of memory loss.
Her great grandmother did not even recognize Katie when she started to talk to her but then all of a sudden at the mention of her parents Katie's great grandmother seemed to remember almost everything about her childhood and her parents. So as it turned out it was not a waste of time to go see her great grandmother after all. then the following day Katie's great grandmother called asking Katie to come back and talk to her because she was very lonely in her room with no young people to talk to so 30 minutes later Katie arrived at the nursing home.
When Jackie dropped Katie off at the nursing home half an hour after the phone call from her great grandmother, her mother decides she is going to go park the car and go in and visit with her grandmother also. When they walk in through the door of the building there is a crash cart going in to Katie's great grandmother's room because she went " Code Blue", in Laymans terms the nurse explained to Katie that it meant that her great grandmother had stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated in order for them to go be with her and talk to her they had to stay away from her room while they shocked her with the paddles to get her heart to start beating so she could breathe otherwise she would die of a minor cardio enfarction, a.k.a. a heart attack, due to stress related causes and the nurse asked Katie if her great grandmother had seemed really anxious on the phone, and when Katie told the nurse she had seemed anxious the nurses told the doctor to control fluids for the next 24-48 hours for any sign of a urinary track infection caused by to much liquids in her system.
Two days later after Katie's grand mother had the heart attack the nurse found something unusual in her urine it was methanphetimines which are used to control hyper activity in ADHD patients. the next thing you know Katie's grandmother had stroke due to internal bleeding in her brain stem. Katie returns to the nursing home that evening only to find the only link to the doll house, her great grandmother, has been in a coma all day. when she returns home and tells her mother she sugests that they bing the doll house to the nursing home to sit in Katie's great grandmother's room until she wakes up from her coma. Katie agrees with this idea so the next morning they bring it to the nursing home and place it in the corner of the room where it can be seen from the bed when she woke up.
Three weeks later Katie gets a call for the nursing home saying her great grandmother was out of her coma sitting in bed playing with the dolls and doll house. So later that week Katie goes to see her Great Grandmother only to find out that her grandmother thought she had no children and that she was only a little girl and not interested in having kids yet. the next week Katie returned to the nursing home to take her great grandmother out for the day to see what she does remember about the house she grew up in.
When they get to Katie's house Jackie greets them and gives their guest a cup of tea to drink, since it was slightly chilly outside on that particular day. When it was time for Katie to bring her Great Grandmother back to the nursing home she said to them " Please oh PLEASE don't make me go back, PLEASE! There are horrible people in that place and they are all staff members PLEASE don't make me PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE!?!"
