The salty wind tossled Captain Fang's long dark wavy hair as she focused with a spyglass on the horizon. A ship was sailing with the familiar flag and was the one she was eyeing for a long time. A content smile curved her thin lips as she recognized the ship. "Keep aiming for that ship from behind, Seamus. I want to see their surprise on their faces." Demanded Fang.781Please respect copyright.PENANAxvBx7gqQHj
"Aye, aye Captain." Assured Seamus and turned the wheel slightly to starboard to follow the ship. The ship and its crew were unaware of the danger they were about to encounter until it was too late. As the grappling hooks drilled into the wood of the deck and first few men climbed on board, the other crew had no time to prepare themselves to defend. Sharp daggers and swords were at their throats and the captain's train of thought over the maps was cut by a dagger. Captain Fang grinned triumphantly as she stepped onto the deck and walked towards the captain. "You and I meet again, Eugene." Fang's crew gaffawed in loud laughter while Eugene clenched his teeth in anger with a grunt. "It's Captain Blackwell!"781Please respect copyright.PENANAwQ8xVZw3fQ
"Not to me." She smiled at him teasingly. "I've come to collect what is rightfully mine and a reward for my boys for their hard labour."781Please respect copyright.PENANA1TrsxcX5Ef
"No! You can't have it! Anything but that!" Eugene pleaded worried and struggled from the two men holding him by his arms.781Please respect copyright.PENANAEnuCjXm2W9
"Why do you think I can't have it? Just because I'm a woman and not English like you?"
"You don't know what you're up against if you take it and what do you intend to do with it?"781Please respect copyright.PENANAX9TFyNyHf9
"Why do you care when you betrayed me!" She hissed at him angered. Two men paced up to Captain Fang and handed carefully a crystal ball that was half wrapped in silk and wool and larger than any marble. Fang held it up against the sun to inspect closer. The crystal ball had engravings of unusual symbols and shapes that Fang never saw before. "This will do nicely." She smiled. "Men, take to your hearts liking as a reward except the nourishments of this ship! Don't dawdle!" She demanded while wrapping the crystal ball and paced across the deck towards the blanks to her ship.781Please respect copyright.PENANA3nnhy94AMf
"No! You can't!" Shouted Captain Blackwell and struggled to free himself. One arm was suddenly free and grabbed the man's dagger and cut him in the shoulder. He sprinted straight towards Captain Fang's back. Fang's crew tried to catch him but Blackwell was too quick. He breathed heavy as he held the dagger at Fang's throat. "You're leaving without that crystal."781Please respect copyright.PENANAGg73m3n6K9
Fang gave an amused scoff without facing him. Rapidly she ducked backwards, grabbed his arm with the dagger and pulled it down to the ground to knock open his grip to the dagger. Blackwell fell to the ground and found himself facing Fang with a dagger at throat. "Consider yourself lucky not to have stabbed my back, meaning you're an honourable man, I won't kill you." She hissed and held up his right hand. "I'll give you something to remember upon." Fang cut with the dagger across Blackwell's right hand. "The next time we meet you won't be so lucky so stay out of my sight." She stepped up and walked over to her ship with the crystal ball.781Please respect copyright.PENANAhf8zJBHnb6
Captain Blackwell stared after her speechless of her courage, strength and what danger will lie with the crystal ball.
Once at shore Captain Fang allowed her men to celebrate while she will have a quite night in her ship and guard the crystal. She inspected it carefully in the candle light. The engravings were alien to her yet she has heard many stories about the crystal but they all vary. Some people believe the crystal ball came from gods, others said from an ancient human race that once lived in the Himalayan mountains and few even believe it came from a different world. Fang's head was spinning from staring too long at the engravings, thinking of the possible origin and having too many glasses of sake. She sighed drozily, laid back and fell asleep.781Please respect copyright.PENANAVTpO4pffRu
Suddenly Fang heard the creaking of wood and a cool gust of wind blew into her room. She popped open her eyes as she recalled to have the crystal ball close to her. By the window she saw a hooded shadow holding the crystal ball. "I wouldn't do that if I were you." She hissed and pulled out her sword. "Give me the crystal and I let you walk unharmed." She held out her right hand to hand over the crystal.
"What good does it when you know nothing of your possession?" Whispered the shadow and lept off.
"Damn it!" Cursed Fang angered and went after the shadow. Fang was amazed how agile and fast the shadow ran and leapt from mast to mast and on land from roof to roof. At first she thought it was just her head ache but soon Fang learned there was something different to the shadow. The shadow always tried to shake her off by leaping far and high but Fang managed to climb fast and follow the shadow with a shortcut and cut the shadow by surprise at the front. Fang took hold of the shadow figure at its shoulders but Fang's acceleration was too great than she calculated and soon began to fall from the roof. "Damn it!" She cursed and tried to stop the fall by leaping from wall to wall but there was no wall near enough to do so.781Please respect copyright.PENANAgMNBiHTHe3
Suddenly the hooded figure murmured an odd language and one hand started to glow an eerie white-yellow light while holding Fang at her waist. Immediately their fall halted slowly and the air around them came to a halt. Everything was still but small sparks of the yellow light flew around like beetles as they slowly floated to the ground gently. As they landed Fang grabbed the crystal and stepped away from the hooded figure. "Why are you after the crystal? What do you know of it?" Asked Fang sceptically.781Please respect copyright.PENANAlvuRmXBsqu
"The crystal doesn't belong here and its origin is from the Himalayan mountains." Spoke a man's voice softly from the dark hood.
"Why should I believe you? How can I be sure that you've not a thief?" Remarked Fang suspicions.781Please respect copyright.PENANANaEfnSopOB
The hooded figure sighed and removed the hood. In the pale moonlight Fang couldn't believe what she saw. Long pointy ears, large almond shaped eyes and they shimmered with a unique amethyst colour with life. "My name is Kaira and I'm from a different world called Fhairras. I am what you call in your language an Elbian." He paused. "The crystal ball is a magical device that should never land in the wrong hands, hence it should be returned to the mountains as soon as possible."
Fang blinked to be sure she wasn't dreaming nor the sake's effect. She paced around Kaira at safeties distance to inspect. "Why stealing it from me instead of talking like now?" She wondered.
"Would you have believed me if I told you back then?"781Please respect copyright.PENANA28B9ayULKg
Fang bit her lower lip. "Point taken but I still don't trust you, Kai-ra."
Kaira sighed and ran a hand over his face. "I saved your life few moments ago."
"I've learned betrayal can come in various ways." Hissed Fang.
As Captain Fang's ship was swallowed in the horizon Captain Blackwell had brought his crew and ship back to order and demanded to sail to the nearest port. He was determined to get the crystal ball back, no matter the cost of his life or not. He balled his hands into fists but soon his right hand stung. She gave him a fair warning and regretted to have betrayed her but it had to be done. He didn't want her to get involved but it was too late.781Please respect copyright.PENANAOyWmJSLMMd
"Captain, what are your plans when we reach port?" Asked the first man.
"Let the crew have a night on land and let's see where Captain Fang is headed to." Answered Blackwell while staring out to sea.
