Prologue
Near Camp Crystal Lake
Friday, June 13, 1981
One year later...
Harold was overweight.
He looked at the rabbit.
'Hey. It's alright! Got to feed you'. He hadn't thought about the idea that, at forty-two, he had let go all of the good food he enjoyed; he was older, and fatter. And had a receding hairline. Edna wanted everything since they married straight out of High School; Edna didn't have much money. But they saved up $150,00 for the small wedding, and the Grocery Store in Crystal Lake. Outside, the group of boys were playing baseball. Sports wasn't his thing. He watched the windows. The air from the south was cold; it was colder than other places across America. He opened the door; he screamed as a snake came towards him.
Harold backed away.
And he ate two doughnuts.
***
Edna saw him.
'I told you to watch your weight. Didn't I? I talked to Doctor Anderson. I don't want you to die on me'.
'I won't, Edna. Trust me'.
She sighed, and watched TV in the Loungeroom.
***
Edna was hearing Travis James, the newscaster.
'Seven bodies have been found in the new Crystal Lake Training Camp. Ginny Field, the sole survivor, lived. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. Sheriff Earl Tierney said: "It was Jason Voorhees. We're certain he will be arrested---or killed". In other news...'.
'That's right across the street from us', Edna said.
She thought she saw someone near the washing line.
***
Harold heard it.
The sounds of footsteps.
The door was open, and he screamed with horror as the meat cleaver came downwards...
***
Edna was knitting when Jason Voorhees smashed through the window. He attacked her, and she died with her husband, knowing that the death curse had returned.
