I really don't know. Honestly, I don't think I have a favourite song. I spent a week racking my brain, going through the songs on my computer and CDs. While I can say I like a few of them, I wouldn't call them my favourites.
The list was pretty long too, with English and non-English songs. So I narrowed my search to English songs, and came up with quite a few still. I sat and weighed them and narrowed them down to 3 songs; Slow me down - Emmy Rossum, Suddenly I see - KT Tunstall, That's the way it is - Lucky Dube.
These three songs are special to me. The first two really helped me through some difficult times in my life, and the third is a life lesson that sticks. But I think the closest to being a favourite might be the third one, 'That's the way it is'.
I was flipping through the telly as a kid when I happened on this song. I liked it at first because the singer reminded me of my cool uncle who'd moved away. As I listened to the song repeatedly, it stuck with me.
"Be good to the people on your way Up the ladder 'cause you'll need Them on your way down". Those words stuck with me as a kid and influenced how I dealt with people over the years. Although I rarely listen to the song, I remember the essence of the message. Especially when I have to deal with my minions and colleagues at work.
