One of my favorite songs is “Waves” by Dean Lewis.
Yes, I do love his voice and music writing style, but that’s not the only reason I love this song. A kid in my class once said that you don’t listen to a song for the words, you listen to it because of the beat. Well, that’s not the case for me. I usually only really end up loving a song if I can relate to it. Otherwise, it doesn’t stick with me.
I can truly understand and relate to the lyrics of this song. What it is saying to me is that when we were younger, we were so innocent and didn’t have a care in the world. But as we get older, those feelings are stripped away from you. Suddenly, your more aware of everything that’s happening around you and everyone you thought you trusted is changing. It feels like the whole universe is turning on you, and you try to grasp onto that old feeling again, but it slips through your fingers, and those waves continue to carry us away.
But of course, there are always a few people in your life you can trust and rely on to make what your going through a little easier, and make sure you are not immersed in the murky waters. This song reminds me that I’m not alone in this world, and others are experiencing the exact same thing I am. 228Please respect copyright.PENANACFrTVdiUck
This song was one of the only things that kept me sane last year, when times were especially tough for me. Now that I’ve changed schools, I’m having a much better time and a lot of anxiety has been lifted off my shoulders.
I still listen to this song from time to time when I feel down to remind me that I’m gonna be okay.
If your having a bad day, I recommend listening to this song.
