HELGA'S POV
When we got to the camping spot, everybody got out and waited for further instruction.
"Now I will assign two of you to a tent." Mr. Simmons said then started to call off the names of the two people who will be sleeping together in a tent. I know that the teachers won't let us do co-ed so there's a chance that I won't be with Arnold.
"Helga and Phoebe."
I knew it.
"Gerald and Arnold."
Well, at least it isn't Marley. Mr. Simmons continued to go on until everybody was assigned a tent. Everybody then went off to set up their tents. Me and Phoebe grabbed our tent and headed off to find a good place to set it.
"Let's set it here." She said as she set the tent down on the ground.
Me and Phoebe started to work on setting up our tent but we sorta needed extra help.
"Hey, Phoebe, can you come here for a sec?" Gerald called out.
"Sorry, Helga. I'll be right back." She said then walked off.
I sighed then tried to set up the tent myself but it was hard.
"Need some help?"
I looked up to see Arnold.
"Yeah. Phoebe ditched me." I said.
"No problem." He said then started to help me set up the tent.
I glanced over at Gerald and Phoebe to see them giggling. I started to wonder whether the two of them planned this so me and Arnold could have some time together.
"There you go." Arnold said once he finished setting up the tent.
I smiled. "Thanks. I owe you."
He shrugged. "It's nothing. I'm happy to help." He said with a smile.
"Arnold! Can you help us!?" Marley called out.
I glanced over at Marley to see her having trouble setting up her tent with some other girl.
"Sorry. I'll see you later." Arnold said then walked over to Marley. I sighed.
"Great...Just great..."

ARNOLD'S POV
Throughout the day, I haven't had a chance to hang out with Helga alone. Marley was always with me and every time I tried to shake her, she just kept coming back. It's starting to get on my nerves. I really want to hang out with Helga and Marley is preventing me from doing it. Later on tonight, everybody started to relax and do their own thing. Either by hanging out by the fire or talking in their tents. I wasn't sure where Helga was, though. I walked up to Gerald and Phoebe to ask them.
"Have any of you seen Helga?" I asked.
"She's in our tent." Phoebe replied.
"Thanks." I said then made my way over to Helga's and Phoebe's tent.
I pulled back the tent door to see Helga sitting in the tent, reading. I smiled then crawled inside.
"Hey."
"Oh, hey, Arnold. What's up? You're not with Marley?" She asked.
I shook my head as I sat next to her. "She's talking with her friends."
"Oh." Helga nodded.
"What are you reading?" I asked.
"Just some book I found in my closet." She replied.
I smiled as I stared at Helga. She caught me staring at her.
"What?" She asked.
I continued to stare at Helga then I leaned over and started to pull the scrunchie from her hair, causing her hair to fall over her shoulders.
"You look more beautiful with your hair down." I said softly.
Helga looked away and blushed. I scooted closer to her then tilted her head up. I stared into her eyes as I started to lean close to her, about to kiss her when someone opened the door flap. Me and Helga both looked to see who it is and to our relief, it was Gerald instead of Marley.
Gerald smirked.
"You know, you guys should go somewhere more private so nobody would walk in on you two making out." He noted then walked away.
I sighed as I pulled away from Helga.
"Hey. Meet me later on tonight okay?"
"When everybody is sleeping?" She asked.
I nodded.
"Alright."
I smiled then left the tent. I was going to take Gerald's advice and try to kiss Helga somewhere more private. Probably near the woods, somewhere that's away from the camp.
