HELGA'S POV
I stood at the front of the school with everybody else who has already arrived to go on the camping trip. I currently have my hair pulled back into a pony tail with a pink scrunchie and I was wearing my old camping jacket with blue jean pants and my camping boots. It's been awhile since I've been camping. I can't remember the last time I went camping. To be honest, I kinda miss it. The great outdoors, trees, birds, the smell. Even though Marley is coming, i'm not going to try to let her ruin this camping trip.
"Are you ready, Helga?" Phoebe asked.
I nodded as I gripped the strap of my backpack. "I was born ready. Though, this bag is kinda heavy." I said.
"Why don't you take it off? Everybody's not here yet." She suggested.
I sighed. "Why not." I slowly took my backpack off and set it down next to me.
"I still can't get over the fact that Marley is coming."
Phoebe nodded. "I understand. You can hang out with me and Gerald?"
I shrugged. "Nah. You two have fun. Just because I can't have some alone time with Arnold, doesn't mean you shouldn't have alone time with Gerald."
Phoebe smiled and blushed. "Gosh. Thanks, Helga."
I smiled. "No problem."
I started to look around, wondering when Arnold is going to get here.

ARNOLD'S POV
"Thanks for driving us to the school, Grandpa." I said as I sat in the front seat of Grandpa's car while Gerald and Marley sat in the back.
"It's no problem, shortman. I'm happy to help." He said as he pulled up to the school.
"You guys have fun now." He said as we all got out of the car and gathered our things.
"Bye, Grandpa. I'll see you in a week." I said then closed the door.
"I'm really stoked to be camping again. I haven't done it in forever!" Gerald said.
"Besides going away to sleepaway camp, I've never actually camped in tents and sat around a bonfire." Marley said as she took my hand.
"Really? You're in for a treat then." Gerald said.
I smiled. "Alright, guys. Let's save the excitement for when we get there." I said as we headed over to where everybody else was.
When we walked up, I noticed Helga. Even though she was wearing her camping gear, I thought that she was beautiful. Especially with her hair tied up like that. I felt my heart pounding in my chest again.
"We should go check in." Marley said.
"Why don't you go check us in?" I asked her.
She smiled and nodded. "Alright."
I watched Marley walk away before looking back at Helga. Then I heard Gerald snickering.
"I knew it. You sent Marley away so you can talk to Helga."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Whatever you say." I said then walked over to Helga and Phoebe.
"Hey, guys. You ready to do some camping?" Gerald asked when we both walked up.
"Yup. I'm excited." Phoebe said with a smile.
"Camping is starting to bring back memories." Helga replied.
"Yeah...it is..." I said as I stared at Helga.
Helga caught my eye and we both stared at each other.
"Psst. Look, Phoebe. They're having a moment." Gerald whispered.
I sighed as I heard Gerald then shot him a look. Gerald raised his hands up in defense. "Sorry."
I looked back at Helga and smiled. "Helga, you look-"
"I got us signed in." Marley said as she walked over to us.
I sighed sadly then looked away from Helga. Marley walked over to me and took my hand again.
"Things are starting off not so nice," I thought to myself.

HELGA'S POV
"Roll call!" Mr. Simmons said once both of the classes gathered together in the front of the school.
I stood there as Mr. Simmons called out the roll from his class. I glanced over at Arnold to see that him and Marley are still holding hands. I wish that was my hand he was holding.
"I can't believe it." I whispered to Phoebe.
"Can't believe what?" She asked.
"You know. Marley is here."
"Well, look on the bright side. I think Arnold was about to compliment you on your appearance." She pointed out.
"You think? Hmm...Maybe. Too bad he couldn't say it cause Marley came back over." I gritted my teeth.
"Yes. That IS too bad."
"How am I supposed to have alone time with Arnold if Marley is always around?" I asked.
"I can help keep Marley away?" Phoebe suggested.
I looked at her. "Really? That's awesome. Thanks, Phoebs."
Phoebe shrugged. "No problem." She smiled.
Once roll call was finished with both classes, we all got on the travelling bus. Phoebe and Gerald ended up sitting next to each other and of course Arnold and Marley were sitting next to each other. That left me sitting with no one. I sighed as I crossed my arms and slumped down in my seat. Well, this camping trip is starting off with a bust.
