In the log cabin,
Markus was about to open the door when he suddenly heard a sonorous voice singing. Marku's brows knotted together immediately as the voice travelled into his ears.
Markus had heard a lot of voices, but this voice was unique. It was so sweet that he savoured its sweetness. It sounded like an angel's voice.
Markus couldn't help but trance at the direction of the voice. Markus saw the back of a lady seated on a stone near the pool's edge. Her brown hair fell over her shoulder and down to her waist as the moonlight shone on her. The young lady looked like a goddess as Markus stared at her profile.
Markus stood motionless, staring at her. The rage that was building up inside of him suddenly melted away. He felt like the light he was yearning for was slowly reaching him, and it was like the song was sung for him to soothe his soul.
It's strange.
Markus thought with a frown. What was happening; He questioned himself but had no answers.
Maria stared at the forest. Her voice fell and rose gently as she sang from her small, lustrous pink lips.
Markus leaned against a tree, listening to her voice.
"When I look up,
and see the birds,
They fly in freedom, even though I don't know,
what's going on in their mind,
what's going on in their world,
And their challenges.
Flying up in the sky is like great freedom to me, and how I wish I could fly like them alone in the sky.
Free from all pain and brokenness,
suffering and bitterness.
I want to be free from all pain.
All pain........... "
Maria sang solemnly as she sang from the pain in her heart with her eyes closed.
When she awoke and couldn't find Olga, she sat on the stone at the pool's edge, listening to the slow wave of the water and feeling the cool breeze brush all over her skin. She gazed up as she heard birds chirping and leaping from one branch to the next. As she observed them, a tiny smile appeared on her face. She pondered what their world may be like and if there would be any difficulties. She hoped she could fly freely like one of them. She began to recall everything she had gone through at the castle with her twin sister, all the anguish and mistreatment. She imagined what it would be like to be free of all the hurt and resentment. Maria closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and began to piece together her feelings into a song.
Maria was a lady with a great voice who loved to sing and was given the ability to create music from any bit of information. However, whenever she sang in the castle, her brothers and the queen's mother despised her singing, as did some envious servants, and they all made her feel like her voice was trash. As a result, Maria was unable to sing in the presence of anybody other than Mary. She is afraid of people criticizing her or making fun of her voice or song. She adored music so much that she aspired to be a musician. But every time she remembered the last time she was supposed to sing on the youngest prince's birthday, her fear overtook her, and she couldn't make a sound out of her throat. Maria was unable to remove this memory from her head since then. She had attempted to jump into a river that night, but her sister had pleaded with her to stop. Since then, she has doubted her ability to fulfil her ambitions.
