"He was a wasteful being. I don't need him any longer."
"What are your plans?"
"Have you found Rayon?" He ignored Lucas' query.
"Not yet. I need more time."
"You have to take her away." He muttered almost to himself, "I could hurt her; I'm on my period."
"We've been seeking an opportunity to get our hands on this treasure." He reminded him.
"And now isn't the time." He said crossly.
"You've been acting strangely since..."
"Don't make me angry, Lucas." He cut him off abruptly.
"The curse must be broken." Lucas didn't flinch at his threat.
Markus whirled his head to face him, his eyes flashing with rage. "Enough!" He said coldly. "Just follow my instructions." He stated it gravely and leapt away.
"Damn," Lucas grunted.
The following day in the courtroom,
Mary fell to her knees in front of King Alex and Queen Mother Henry, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Can you tell me what you've seen this time?" Henry inquired, raising her brow.
"Please, Queen Mother, save Maria. Maria is in danger." Mary bowed her head to the King and Queen's Mother. "Your Majesty, I saw Maria in distress."
"The guards saw a beast devour Maria," Henry spoke casually. "She's died already."
"No! She's alive, Mother," Mary sobbed, shaking her head in denial. "I can feel it and see it. Please save her; she's the only sister I have." She begged.
"How about me? And what about your brothers? We are all family." She scowled. "Leave her alone and let go."
"Mother had spoken well. We are all family." King Alexander smirked.
"Mother, please! Please, your Majesty. Don't ever let her go. She is my sister as well as a close friend."
"Remember she escaped!!!" The Queen Mother roared.
Mary shuddered in horror as a chill rushed down her spine. In anguish, her heart twisted. It felt like Millions of arrows seemed to be piercing her heart. She buried her face in her palms and sobbed quietly.
"Please, mother, please. My vision always comes true." Mary pleaded.
"You should point the finger at your sister, not at me or any of my sons."
"Maria didn't mean to flee; she was afraid of punishment."
"Guards!!!" Henry screamed angrily and impatiently.
The guards stormed into the room.
"Take her to the head maid and get the head maid's uniform made for her." She gave the order, and the guards pulled Mary out of the courtroom.
I wish I could have written more than this chapter, but I didn't make it. I got a few issues on my side here. I'd appreciate it if you could bear with me and stick with me on this new journey. You can follow me @facebook, Olawoyin Oyinade. Love U
