Many of you may not heard it before. But it has been passed in ages, and in ages hence. But whether it is in accordance with reality or a fallacy remained unsought for its validity.
This story, is a tale between a noble vampire who died once and a peasant succubus who seduce to live.
--
Staccato of bullets reigned in the dead of the night.
Villagers abound may deem it outlandish to be hearing echoes of gunfire. Yet the unsettling sound prevailed, and not a single soul invoke remonstrance. They might be awoken from their deep slumber, but none of them would ever dream to make such an attempt. Daring so would end in severe consequences. Because they are well aware. Beside regular mortals, immortal beings are running among them.
At last, the booming din abated, and there was only the din of silence.
The full moon was shining brightly upon that night. Its silvery ray casting down onto the silhouette of two.
One is a fair woman of dark-haired beauty. Her hypnotic eyes the color of glowing fireflies in the dark. Her clothes was reprehensible yet standing tall with poise. Her arm outstretched and armed with a gun.
And the other is an elegant man with a hair as smooth and creamy as the strawberries planted in backyard gardens. Freckled below his crimson-red eyes and a skin as pallid as ivory bones. Despite clad in refine and a postured grace, his mouth was tainted with the blood of another.
The said elegant man initiated a turning of the body, as slow as the rolling smoky clouds above the dark skies. Licking the blood on the sides of his lips, he faced the woman with amusing eyes.
"Is that the firearm you were blasting at me? It's very adorable in person."
He sing-sung, and the woman scorned. "Notably, since that barrel is hollow."
With a frown on her face, the woman triggered her firearm— mound never leaving from the elegant man's face— but only releasing an empty cocking sound. Just as the man had said, there is no charge of lead.
Realizing a bit too late, the distracted woman was disarmed and the gun was tackled from her grasp. A slap of the face, and her cheek was moist. Then a hand was around her neck in a vice grip. Thumb was pressed onto the vital spot of her neck.
The elegant man spoke in a voice so hollow and certainly not amused as he appeared just shortly. "Well, what else is new?"
But soon he noticed something that gradually, his listless eyes slightly widened. Upon closer inspection on the woman's face, he spoke in such a such a way genuinely apologetic. "Oh dear, pardon me for hitting you with my sullied hand."
With ginger care, he run his tongue on her cheek stained in blood he caused, and the gaping woman grimaced at the soggy touch.
Her reaction caused the elegant man to smile and chummily said, "I presume that's a "thanks". You are most welcome."
In spite of hard breathing, the woman was able to trade a mocking smirk and replied, "Are you hitting on me, you pathetic blood-sucking dead oofy bachelor? Do you feel lonely because you haven't met your fated beloved?"
The woman feigned sympathy before derisively saying, "Poor you to die so young."
Almost immediately, the grip on her neck tightened. "I would never dream of mating with a promiscuous creature who earns wealth using her body and feeding onto others sexual energy to be healthy. You're the embodiment of a harlot! Have you left no ounce of shame in yourself?!"
The bright eyes of the woman begun to glow in a turbulent swirl, burying her long nails unto his flesh, wounding the man and gave it a painful bleeding. She said with animosity, "Shut your gob! You're no better than me!"
The man's crimson-red eyes gleamed in malicious radiance. His free hand prepared to seize her lavish eyes into empty pair of eye-sockets as he spat, "Hah! I am better than you, succubus peasant!"
"You—!"
"Stand down!"
Hearing someone else's voice, they froze.
In the fair distance from which they stand upon, a couple of knights emerged bearing individual weapons: A middle-aged man with a calm demeanor equipped in a long fire-arm on both hands, and a young brunette with an icy-look who wield a sword. Both in their prime stances, ready to use force if need be.
"Count Inouye, it's a pleasure to see you however in this time of night." The middle-aged man greeted, yet his dark auburn eyes appeared intent on the elegant man.
"Sir... Knight Commander Mikáel, was it?" The nobleman regarded the middle-aged man in subtle superiority. "I have heard of you. In guise of a human, but daemonic in form himself with wings like that of an angel... It's an honor to meet a creature intellectually noble as I literally am."
In between, the captive woman flared. "Leave me be! This affair is my own!"
"You've caused enough mishaps, Noir!" Chastised the middle-aged man, then revert his look at the young nobleman. "Forgive our companion for troubling your night, Count."
"It is no problem. I see that the legion are also having a difficulty taming this promiscuous lady. How about a compromise? I'm well aware that this lady, no matter how unlady-like she is, is quite an asset to your group. How about a million and a half pounds for her life?"
"No! That is not right!" Protested the woman, flailing her arms. "My life and my body is worth thrice as much I earned in my labour!"
"I am sorry, but we cannot let you do that." Aiming his long fire-arm directly at the nobleman, he forewarned, "This is our last warning, Count Inouye... please let her go and this will end peacefully."
The nobleman inclined his head and gave his best polite answer. "I must humbly decline." Raising his free arm, the nobleman begun to hurl a thrust. "... No matter what you say... I shall have her!"
Just then a cold metal scraped onto one eye of the nobleman, causing him to backpedal and recoil in pain. "Grnaaah!"
"Erika, now!"
With swift of a hand, a stream of water flung between the nobleman and the woman, forcing the them to be separated by feet. Instantly the water crystallized into a wall of ice before the nobleman render an attempt on seizing the woman once more.
A glint of light escaped in the vision of his unhurt eyes. He sidestepped just in time from being sliced in two by the neck.
Face to face, his unsheathed knife touched the skin of the young brunette's neck as her sword was pressed on his in a stalemate.
"Inouye, that's enough!"
Blades clashed once in dissonance, before finally leaping away.
Almost flinching, the nobleman's crimson-red eyes stretched in surprise. It was his father and mother.
⚔
After a session of wide-eyed and open-mouthed reaction, Inoue Fujimoto furiously typed on her PC keyboard.
(Lulu? What is this? Why everyone is gender-bender in here? My mom and dad is here too!)
It was merely a second long that she received a reply in the messenger. A chat bubble popped up. (What~ That's what really happened in my dream~)
(What kind of sorcery is that? You created a story in your dreams??)
(Haha, didn't I tell you before? I usually make new stories based on the dream I had sometime. This time, it's all about the past lives between two rivals! You and that gay, Kuro ;) )
(Okei, but still... what is this?!)
(Don't ask me. Ask my dreams~ That's what happened in my dreams. Chael may stay a man but he is so old tho lawl)
(Weit, weit, weit! You mean to say, I really did that licking thing on Kuro's cheek?! I would never do that disgusting thing to him!)
(Lawl you never know~ Actually~ My story is a little different in my dreams. I revised it a bit. The dream is actually kinda creepy...)
(That's true enough. Your dream. is. a. NIGHTMARE)
(But seriously, though. It had a creepy vibe to it. In my dream, you and Kuro were being watched by someone. Someone tall and wearing black robes. Not moving at all like a statuesque)
(What's so creepy about that? It's only a stalker in medieval times.)
(The creepy thing was, that someone was the one who caused the entire world into a bloody war. Kuro and you kept on fighting because of that and ended up killing each other. The day ended, and nobody was left alive, all except for that someone, standing above all, looking down on others while the skies were simply dark and black and the moon and the stars remains unseen)
(=-= Don't put your writing in our chatroom)
(It's so creepy! >m<)
The knocking of the door alerted Inoue.
(I have to go now, Rikkun's here~)
(Have a fun Halloween! Btw, what costume are you wearing?)
Inoue stared at the screen for a moment, before finally replying, (Um. Secret. Have fun too, okei?)
(Gimme the photo later~)
(Maybe~ Bye!)
Logging out and leaving from her room, she jogged downstairs to get the door. But the door was already opened and Rikkun stood there uncomfortably shifting.
"Oh! Big sis! I opened the door for him!"
Inoue suspiciously narrowed her eyes at her little sister. "...What did you say to him??"
"Oh, nothing~ Just being a good little sister to you, mhmm~ Bye!"
Her little sister ran off to the kitchen.
Rikkun coughed on his fist, looking much better. "Well, shall we go?"
"Yes. Just a moment." Inoue turning, she yelled upstairs. "Itekimasu~"
"Itarashai, Inoue! Good luck~!"
"Good luck?" Rikkun inquired. "What for??"
"It's nothing, nothing at all!" Inoue chirped, before ushering Rikkun outside
And they left off.
"So..." Rikkun began, glancing at the side to look at the seemingly morbid and nervous Inoue. "Dark and classy clothing, red eyes, and fangs... you're customizing as a vampire, right?"
"Ahahahaha.... yeah...."
Rikkun raised a questioning eyebrow. "You sounded awkward, is something wrong?"
"Ahahaha... not all... um..." Inoue turned her rigid expression toward Rikkun. "Is that... a pirate costume you're wearing..?"
From the mentioning of "Pirate" Rikkun's eyes seemed to beam. "Yep. Ever since I was little, I've always wanted to live a life like a pirate."
"Ahahaha... um, why.. is that?"
"They're the... only people who seemed to live on the ocean as if it's land. Exploring in sails, seeking mysterious islands, or even finding lost treasures in the deepest part of the seas... it's awesome. I like to live my life on the seas, if I can."
"You... um... like seas?"
"Heh, yeah. Funny right?"
"Ahahaha... not at all..."
"...Really? How come you still sounded so awkward. Are you sure there's nothing wrong?"
"Yes... nothing wrong. Really! Haha..."
"Okei...? Well, come to think of it, I'm wondering why you chose vampire costume out of all others. Aren't those contact lenses and that prosthetic fangs uncomfortable?"
"A-ah, well... I just suddenly feel like choosing a vampire costume, hehe.."
"Oh. It looks good in you, by the way."
"T-thanks..."
After a while of sauntering they finally arrived at Kuro's home. The designs around the house was heavily detailed with different sets of eyes on the black windows, centipedes and millipedes on the rooftop, outlining the ceilings with cobwebs, and some pumpkins with something slimy-looking and pinkish-reddish on the inside.
Surrounding the house, as Kuro greeted them with a big wave of hand, they were piles of bones scattered along the way.
Kuro winked at them, noticing their reaction. "Like my decoration? I worked really hard on convincing my uncle to plaster them."
"Right..." Was Rikkun mere reply.
Inoue scrunched her eyebrows. "Uhh... did you also decorate... the inside...?"
"You're starting to know me better~ You guys will get spooked!"
Inoue and Rikkun exchanged uncertain glances.
Upon entering Inoue and Rikkun curt a bow. "Ojamashimasu.."
Their expression froze as they gauged their eyes on the interior of the house. Though there wasn't a myriad of people inside to begin with, the house were brimming of morbid decorations that would impress many visitors. The lights were flickering, the walls were plastered with cracking and stretching-out heads effect stickers, the fake blood splattered on the some of the furniture, piles of bleeding arms or legs, few knives stuck on a table, scattered tongues and eyeballs, hanging intestines, and on the ceiling they were staring at for a very long time was a head of an eyeless corpse, looking down upon them with a small smile.
On top of that, the house was eerily silent. The rooms on the other side were unlit.
"Kuro..." Rikkun solemnly began.
"This is amazing!" Both Rikkun and Inoue breathed.
"Hehe, thank you. Thank you." Kuro bowed before beaming, "Last but not the least, the best part of it all, the bedroom!"
Exchanging another glance at each other, this time, it was suspicion.
Room dimly lit and filled with lavender scent, Kuro's bed was changed into royal red of sheets and laced pillows with petals of red and white roses.
Sitting on the edge of such bed was Rizuki, reading a manga called Midnight Secretary while munching on pieces of chocolates in a basket beside her.
Kuro's head had been punched.
⚔
"Chael is not coming?"
"He said he had something important to do along with his parents." Inoue explained to Kuro's inquiry.
"It was always like that." Rikkun said with a hint of disdain.
"He never went into occasion like this..." Rizuki added.
"He missed the fun."
While a volunteering stranger who was in a cloaked grim reaper costume carefully fixed the angle of the camera, the four were talking in weit.
"Sis... why are you wearing a pirate costume?"
"I would like to ask you the same thing..." Rizuki replied to his annoyed twin brother. "Why are you wearing a pirate costume too?"
Inoue was eyeing Kuro nervously "By the way, Kuro.... is that a.. demon you're wearing?"
"That's right~ Incubus~"
"I...incubus..."
"Y'know, the male version for succubus. People always call me Gay Harem Incubus so why not?"
"Yeah.. right... I see." Inoue laughed nervously.
The cloaked stranger waved at them for attention. "Alright, this looks perfect. Um, vampire lady and incubus guy will be on the front-"
"What?! But I want Rikkun to be with me!"
Kuro and Inoue paused then immediately traded glares before saying straight out, "Hmph!"
Rizuki made a subtle expression at her brother but the raise of an eyebrow made it clear it was a look of bewilderment.
Rikkun shrugged both of his shoulders. "What? I didn't enchant them."
"-The pirates will be at the back... stop-that's good. One..."
"That's right. Only a person as handsomely beautiful as Chael can do that."
"Two.."
"He doesn't- weit. What did you-"
"Smile at the camera, brother."
"Three..!"
Handing back the phone, Inoue was about to thank the stranger, but the stranger was gone the moment she looked up. Not a glimpse of him in sight.
As the camera showed her nervous expression, right now, it was even more than that.
⚔
A war between two different creature prevailed for long that even the mortals gradually became involved in the chaos.
The knights of the legion, who were trained to avoid such crisis couldn't put a stop to it and ended up sacrificing themselves from nothing.
Many blood had shed. Not a single one of them survived.
The nobleman who is a vampire and the peasant woman who is a succubus swore revenge and cursed on each other through gritted teeth until their last breath. If eternity is possible for the both of them, they would be at each others throats, fighting forever and ever.
The dawn of the new day appeared too soon, revealing a cloaked figure towering above the end of existence.
It muttered in a hush, bitter voice. "This was not I wish to happen...!"
The cloaked figure, slouching at the sight, stared up high at the bluest, clearest of skies. Cape fluttering like black wings, it took off. Flying in reverse.
