As soon as the car stopped, Taylor reached over and pulled his phone from Carmen's hands. He didn't take the time to take in her startled expression as he read and re-read the message, his anger increasing each time he read it.
"Is something wrong?" he faintly heard Carmen ask. He slowly removed his gaze from the phone to her.
"No, everything's okay," he lied, not so effectively. But instead of prying, she just nodded and looked out of the window, to which he was thankful for. He mentally tried to calm down before he placed his phone on the console. And without saying another word, he joined the road again and started to drive towards the school.

He walked towards his dorm, his mind focused on finding out the meaning behind the text message. He was so focused on that task that he didn't notice when people greeted him. Instead, he walked past them as if they didn't exist.
When he reached the room, he opened the door and was surprised to find that the interior had changed completely. And standing beside the window with a phone in hand, was someone he had never seen before.
"Dude, thanks for the hookup. This place is in the perfect spot," Taylor heard the guy standing before him say. He said a few more words into the phone before hanging up and turning to face him.
He immediately jumped and placed a hand on his heart as soon as he saw Taylor.
"Don't do that! You almost gave me a heart attack," he said, smiling jokingly. However, Taylor was not in the mood to smile back.
"What are you doing in my room?" Taylor asked. The guy laughed.
"I don't know who you are but that's funny. This room was empty when I came and besides, the school arranged for me to stay here."
"That's not possible," Taylor retorted.
"Look, if there was a mistake, I'm not the right person to talk to." The guy walked towards him and pushed him slightly.
"Now if you don't mind, I'd like to be alone in my room."
Taylor couldn't do anything but to allow him to push him until the door opened to reveal an all too familiar figure.
"Hey, you moved your stuff in already," Mike said to the guy, looking past Taylor.
"Yeah, man. Thanks for the help by the way. This room's gotta be in the best location." As soon as he heard that, Taylor turned and grabbed onto Mike's shirt.
"So it was you," he spat. Mike smirked.
"What are you talking about--"
"Don't start this bullsh**"
"I told you that you couldn't get me kicked off the team scot free. This is what happens when you don't listen."
Taylor felt a surge of anger rush through him and he went to punch Mike but a hand stopped him.
"Don't do this in my room, I don't want any trouble," the guy stopped him but Mike only encouraged him.
"Why don't you hit me, Hill? I'm sure you'd like to."
He continued to look at his ex-best friend, wondering what had caused him to become the way that he was. But he quickly pushed that aside as he felt his arm dropping subconsciously.
Mike's smirk grew as he adjusted his shirt before he left the room, shaking his head.

After spending several hours trying to talk to the administration office about his situation, he returned to his old dorm to retrieve the last of his belongings. And after that, he walked towards his car, intending to go to Carmen's apartment.
He knocked on the door and stood there, unsure of what he would tell whoever opened the door. Thankfully, it was Carmen and he found himself smiling when he saw her. She smiled slightly when she first saw him, before her eyes wandered to his bags laying at his feet.
"Why are you here so late?" she asked. He debated on whether or not he should tell her and eventually decided to use an excuse.
"I lost the key to my dorm. Do you mind if I spend the night?"
She stood there and looked at him uncertainly for a few moments before stepping aside and gesturing for him to enter.
"Welcome to casa de Carmen and Abby."
