"You know, I really liked him," I whimpered out as my brother, Terrence, patted me on the back.
"There, there," he said robotically, and I rolled my eyes, wiping my tears.
"Can't you be more empathetic? My boyfriend dumped me!"
"Well, what do you want me to do?" He retorted, "I'm only ten!"
He's right; I can't expect a ten year old to listen to my high school drama.... but I really liked him, he was everything to me. Tears started blurring my vision again as I wailed out, "But now there isn't the slightest chance that I'll ever hear someone say 'I love you' to me before I turn seventy!"
Terrence looked at me in alarm as my face got blotchier. He said quickly, "Wait, but I love you! You're the best big sis in the world!" His pats on my back increased with speed and urgency.
"Really?" I sniffled.
"Really," he confirmed. 788Please respect copyright.PENANAr5amC8SBqG
I paused, considering it. Well, I guess that sibling love will have to do for now.
