In a shrine in Beria. The stench of blood and screams of men dying filled the air. One of the priests ran out of the shrine, trying to escape but a sword pierced his back and he fell to the ground bleeding, but still not dead. He began to crawl away, hoping to get away from the murderer. The man behind all the killing came out into the open to retrieve this sword from the fleeing priest. It was the commander Nela spoke about, Kuba. His eyes were filled with rage and his face was covered with blood stains. He had no hint of mercy written on him.
He walked up to where the priest is and drive the sword further in to kill him before pulling it out. He turned to the shrine where the high priest is. He was on the ground and couldn't run because his legs has been chopped off by the former warrior of Berial. He dragged himself back to lean on a statue of Horon.
Kuba was filled with joy after he emerged victorious from his last war and even more elated because of the thought of him returning home to his family. He had promised his pregnant wife and children to retire from the army and live with them full-time. But when he got back home, his family had been brutally killed and no one in the village seemed to care about that. He went on a rampage and killed everyone in the village, but still wasn't satisfied. He wanted to piss off the gods so he attacked the priests at the shrine.
The high priest groan in pain as Kuba approached him.
"This is a sin. You shall be punished for your evil deeds. But it's not too late to repent. Even now, in the state you are…" the priest exclaimed. "Please spare me… I'll give you whatever you want" he pleaded as he noticed the merciless Kuba wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying.
He took some steps closer to the priest with his sword, blood dripping from it.
"Where are your gods? Where are the gods you oh so trust?" He yells before using his leg to press the priest's shoulder back on the statue.
He then raised his hand over his head and slit the high priest's throat. He fell to the ground drowning in his blood.
Kuba turned away from the priest and plunged his sword into the ground. He then looked around the shrine reading the inscription on the wall before collapsing to the ground in tears. He screamed out the name of his wife, shouting in pain. He then raised his head and looked around the shrine before weeping more.
After some more tears, he stood up and took out his sword, sheathing it, before walking out of the shrine. The moment he walked out, it started pouring down. The rain washed away the blood on him.
He spat out blood before walking away from the shrine.
A few moments after he left, Nela arrived at the shrine with her horse. She had followed his bloody trail here. She quickly unmounted her horse and headed into the shrine. She was shocked at the sight of the state of the shine.
She walked forward, walking through the pool of blood. She kept trying to drown down the thoughts in her mind that were telling her that this was the handwork of Kuba. She ran out of the shrine, got on her horse, and ride away, following the blood trail Kuba left due to the rain.
In the Horizon.
"The rain helped her figure out where he is headed too. That's all I can help with" Maruyn says to Horon who asked him to help with the rain.
"Appreciated," Horon replied.
The weather god smiled before going back to what he was doing.
Indeego who noticed Maruyn's conversation with Horon approached the latter.
He exhaled softly as he saw Indeego approaching him.
"You had Maruyn make it pour to leave trails for the mortal. Have you forgotten Entity's order?" She asked with slight anger in her voice.
Horon turned to face her. "I didn't interfere but indirectly, just like he said. I just don't want the world to plunge into war again, like what happened during the dark war" he pleaded his case.
"That mortal is confused, he doesn't know what path to follow. Maybe if his friend was to talk to him, he'll understand what he has to do"
He then turned to face the other gods.
"I've been trying to hide this from them because I know if they find out, they might end up doing something they'll regret, something that might anger the entity"
"I understand you." She assured.
Indeego turned to look down at the mortals.
"We still must answer to anyone that asks for help"
