"Oh… then why didn't he tell us about this mortal that is turning into the dark side earlier?" Yelenia asked, after listening to Indeego who just told them the entire story about Kuba and his quest to kill the gods.
"He was concerned that you guys would try to stop him. And that would mean going against Entity's order" she replied.
They all nodded, concurring with Horon's decision. It was true that if he had told them about Kuba, they would have set out to kill him, or at least some of them will and that might start an argument between the gods.
"Where is Horon?" The god of fertility asked.
"He descended to look for the mortal, he thinks Ivanile has gotten to him"
Geesorum, the god of hallucination threw his head backward laughing.
"Horon worries too much. How would a mere mortal get up to the Horizon? Imagine the Horizon being destroyed by a mere mortal. What kind of gods does that make us" He stated.
As if waiting for him to finish talking, a loud sound of explosion filled the air as the speed god statue fell to the ground, shattering into tiny pieces.
The gods all got on their feet shocked. It was the first time anything like that had ever happened in the Horizon so they were all utterly confused.
The statue fell on some of the blessed souls that were in that location, rendering them immobile.
The smoke cleared to reveal a man, not just any man, Kuba standing on the collapsed statue, holding his scythe over his shoulder.
"How did he get up here?" Indeego asked.
"What is going on? Who is that?" Maruyn asked.
"Is this one of your powers Geesorum?" Rinonus asked.
"That's the mortal who was driven by revenge" she answered.
"Impossible…" all the gods uttered in unison.
He took a step forward, getting down from the broken statue.
"I… longed for the day… I longed for this day… the day I will be able to look you, gods in the eyes and drive my sword into your chest to see if you bleed" Kuba says.
He started walking slowly toward them before picking up the pace. The gods made their armor and weapon appear.
As he reached where they were, he swung his weapon at Yelenia. She used her sword to parry it. But the force behind the attack was so strong that it sent her flying back.
The other gods stood there shocked. They all wondered how a mere human can fight a Horizonian, a god.
Geesorum clenched his fist in anger. "You dare intrude the holy Horizon and destroy things, you insolence fool," he said before using his powers to create more of the gods all surrounding him.
He stabbed his scythe into the ground and it sent a bolt of lightning in all directions, destroying the fake images and throwing the gods backward.
He raised his weapon about to stab Geesorum but Arey swiftly picked him up with his superspeed and began to run with him around the Horizon, slamming him onto pillars.
Kuba stuck his legs into the ground and grabbed Arey by his neck, stopping him on his track. He lifted him off the ground and slammed him on the ground. Destroying the ground around them.
He raised his scythe to attack him but Indeego shouted and the wave of her voice pushed him back, crashing into the golden castle wall.
She helped Arey up.
"How is this happening? How is he able to keep up with us gods?" Ury queried, completely furious.
In all the billions of years they have lived, they have never met anyone strong enough to keep up with them, apart from the devils.
"I don't know. But I think Ivanile has something to do with this…" Indeego replied.
She then turned to Arey. "You must find Horon and tell him what is going on. Go now"
…
Meanwhile, Horon arrived at the place he last saw Kuba. He looked around but the only thing he saw was the fallen shrine and bodies of lifeless mortals.
He was about to leave when a voice called out for help. He followed the voice to see Nela hanging onto the cliff edge. He extended his hand to help her up.
"Thank you--" she stopped as she saw who it was. At first, she assumed it was just a look alike, but the golden armor makes her believe it was him.
She went down on her knees in front of him. Horon smiled and pulled her up.
"I can't believe this… you are Horon, the war god"
"There's no time" he chipped in. "Where are the man and lady that were just here?" He queried.
Her face falls as she remembered Kuba.
"They must have left. The man used some dark magic on me, if I had not moved, I would have been dead now" she says while pointing down to the side of her stomach that is bleeding.
"Ivanile" Horon muttered to himself.
He then walked over to Nela and waved his hand over her injury and it completely healed up.
"Thank you," she says gleefully.
Just then, Arey appeared in front of them with speed.
"Arey? What are you doing here?" Horon asked.
"The mortal you had your eye on is at the Horizon fighting the gods. We don't know how, but he got there and he's able to keep up with the gods" he answered.
"It is Ivanile's doing. We should get going now" Horon says, turning to go but Nela held his hand. She quickly let go of it the moment he turned to her.
"Take me with you. I beg of you" she beseeched.
Horon knows that taking her there will only get her killed, since her friend was able to attack her, he has already completely turned to the dark side.
"I can't do that. You will die if you are to come to the Horizon right now. Stay back and pray" Horon says.
"I need to see Kuba again. Maybe this time I'll be able to bring him back" she pleaded more. "Give me powers to be able to stop him"
Horon looked down at her for a long moment, weighing his options before placing his hand on her forehead, and in moments, her clothes turned into shining silver armor.
She looked down at herself in awe.
"If you show any acts of being evil, I will end you" he promised.
He then turned to Arey. "Take her, let's return to the Horizon"
Arey swiftly took Nela and disappeared out of sight. But the war god couldn't move. He felt a dark energy holding him back from moving.
A black hole appeared on the ground and Ivanile emerged from it with a mischievous smile on her face.
"Hello Horon--"
