5 Tips For Brand New Writers
1. USE DESCRIPTION!!!!! I don't know how many times I've seen people who don't describe there setting and it leaves me confused as hell. Please use description when writing a story. It can really help you in the long run.
EX: The clouds covered the blue sky obscuring the sun and giving the city a gloom and dreary look.
2. Please for God's sake please take constructive criticism well. If you don't, it really isn't going to help you get better in your writing skills. There is a difference between someone being out right rude and giving you constructive criticism. You just have to learn to tell the difference.
EX: Constructive: "Well I think the story is good, but you need to work on your grammar. Here are someways to do that.......
Rude: "This story is horrible and your grammar sucks.
See? Total difference.
3. Don't get pressured to update constantly because you feel like your readers are going to quit liking your story because of it. Don't stress yourself out. Trust me it's not worth it. Just write when you get the time or get the inspiration or else your writing comes out crappy and your disappointing yourself and your readers. So don't do it.
4. Don't pressure yourself to create long chapters for stories. Write what you can and if people can't accept that oh well. We all have those moments where we all can't write super long chapters. So don't feel pressured to do so. If it comes out great and it's short it's better than it being dragged on and crappy if it's long.
5. Have fun! Writing is all about having fun and getting an escape from reality by getting lost in words and creating something new. Don't make writing a chore. Make it something worth spending your time doing. You can tell the difference between the people who treat it as a chore and the people who treat it as a passion and something they can't help but love to do. Don't forget that.
Those are all my tips! See you in the next writers tips! Bye!
