I dressed up , it was difficult to tell what I was wearing as it was black. The only thing that could be distinguished from my attire was the black coat. My black hair were left loose and they camouflaged with the coat in a way that it seemed like O was wearing a cape. I had worn a top that covered my collarbone. I walked towards the door , the hard sole of my leather boots echoed in the room that was once filled with the ear piercing screams of my pulse reading watch. Of course the watch was not meant to be removed from wrist even while bathing. The watch felt more like shackles that reminded me everyday that I was not normal. I headed to the study as Sylvester had said. On the desk laid a folded piece of paper. It was as if nobody had touched it in ages except that Sylvester had placed it on the desk. I grabbed the piece of paper that was smooth with slight projections. A similar hand writing was smeared all over the paper. A forgotten tale written by an already dead man who was still treated like he was still alive. If I had read it few years in the past. I would have screamed , shoved everything from the desk. But I couldn’t do it anymore , the same man who took away my right to express my feelings was now begging for forgiveness. “My lady we must leave..... now” with a slight knock on the door Sylvester entered the study. I placed back the paper on the desk and turned to leave. If he hadn’t said “my lady” it was more like a command wrapped in courtesy. Sylvester walked behind me and opened the back seat door for me. Before closing he slightly stretched out a hand. “ My lady you should wear these ear plugs or you might be startled by the car horns and other”. There it was again. “ Its alright I don....” once again I was cutoff. “Miss..” he stared at me it was more like a glare. I grabbed the ear plugs and stuffed them in my ears. Sylvester sat in the drivers seat and started the car to leave. I was the owner of great buildings, business but my power was only in name. What was the point of wealth if my own butler bossed me around. Sylvester drove at a moderated speed. He stopped in front of a salmon shop. He did every year on this day. And did I ask him why? Of course. When I thought that my opinion mattered , I asked him. That day he looked at me as if to say that I was a nuisance and he couldn’t not wait for my heart to kill me away. That day I realised that no one in this world cared about me and I had to fulfill a role that was left for me. As soon as he entered the shop I removed the ear plugs. The slight bustling sounds the came from outside. While I was staring outside through the tinted window , something caught my attention from the corner of my eyes. It was a kittens paw that could be seen outside the box. Something inside of me kept telling me go out and see it. I gave into the temptation and softly grabbed the knob of the car , opening the door. The sole of my boots tapped on the foot path. The slight bustling had increased. Gulping away my nervousness I tiptoed towards the box. It was a black kitten and oddly its eyes were closed , it didn’t seem that it sleeping. I grabbed the kitten , the fur was soft except the dirt that caused the hairs to stick together and it was that was poking my palms. I focused on its eyes , there slight stitch marks on it. A feeling choked my throat. Before I could pry into this feeling the watch started beeping. The kitten snuggled in my arms. The people had started to stare my way. Once again I was reminded of those shackles. Something rustled from the darkness of the alley in front of me. “Oi whose there!” A man who looked liked a beggar yelled. He had a bottle of beer in his hand. As soon as he took a step there the clinking sound of glass bottles which clearly meant that he was overdosed with beer. “ YOU ALSO THINK IM USELESS LIKE THAT B*TCH” he was headed towards me. I had to move but I couldn’t. It was as if something was grabbing my legs that were trembling.
