Sia was on her tablet. It was interesting to see the many stories people had posted online. She clicked on one that looked good. Spiritual. As she started reading the story, something felt… off.
She looked up. She was yet again on the battlefield. Invisible forces surrounded, she felt. Sia now realized the story had been focusing towards the demonic. And now she had to defeat them. I knew the story felt off. She sighed.
Sia stood her ground. “Bring it on! For the King!”
Three beasts circled her. The first one shot arrows only it could see. But Sia somehow knew. Like a spiritual sense. She whipped around to face the arrows.
“Put on the full armour of the King. Take the Shield of Faith to distinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one!” She screamed at the arrows. She heard the invisible weapons clatter to the ground.
The beasts shrieked loudly. Sia had made them angry. And they wanted her to pay. Another beast charged at her, curling itself around her neck. It tightened itself until she could barely breathe. “Come on, we just want to play. Let us come in.” The demon whispered in her ear. The voice was hideous.
The second beast tried hard to nestle itself into Sia’s mind. The other two beasts laughed and roared, trying to beat her. It was hard multi-tasking between these monsters.
“K-King!” Sia managed. The demon on her neck weakened. All the monsters hissed and howled. “Take every thought captive! Put on the full armour!” At once, Sia felt something cool and perfect touch her skin. She looked down and saw nothing. She realized she could breathe again. The second beast was gone.
The two remaining demons were still there. But Sia knew how to beat them.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms!”
The beasts backed up. They could no longer hurt her but they were still there.
“Take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of the King!” Instantly a glittering outline of a long, thin sword filled Sia’s hand. Finally, something she could see.
The beasts growled and tried lunging towards Sia but with the Sword in her hand, they could not do harm. Sia swung her sword and hit something. It shrieked with pain.
There was one more sentence to be spoken. “In the name of the King, begone!” Sia spoke. It wasn’t only her voice, a thunder spoke alongside her. “To the Abyss with you!” She added.
The beasts screeched one last time and before they left, Sia saw the actual image of the creatures. They were hideous beyond imaginable. Sia couldn't describe them fully with human words. They were twisted and deformed. They were both about ten feet tall. Spikes and horns covered them. They had three eyes each. Their eyes were some sort of dark red colour, filled with blasphemous and hatred looks, and they looked straight at Sia.
Then they disappeared, the echo of the shrieks still ringing.
Sia was back in her home, tablet still open to the online book. She was stunned by what she just saw. She exited the tab, turned off the device, and sat on her bed. “King, what was that?” She wondered aloud.
A cool, gentle breeze swept through the room. A beautiful voice whispered to Sia, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
