"Hello?” Sia called out. No, no, no, not again! She looked around, panic filling her. Everything around her black and gray like last time. All of a sudden, something dark and evil grabbed her. Sia tried to fight it but it held on. It threw her up in the air while it laughed.
“Come on, you know you want to play. Give in, let go.” It whispered into her ear.
Sia tried to run, but her legs weakened. All she could do was crawl. The creature grabbed her legs and dragged her around. “No, I will not give in! Someone, anyone, help me! Please!”
The hideous thing laughed more, clearly enjoying her torture. “There is nobody that can help you. Nobody.”
Nobody. The thought echoed in Sia’s head. Was there really nobody to help her? She grew limp as the creature played with her more. It tossed her higher and higher, clawing her body in the process. Maybe if I let it have it’s way, it will stop, she thought. Maybe…
At one point, Sia was falling back to the beast for a while. It seemed to have endless strength.
“Call on the King.”
Huh? Who was that? Sia looked all around her. She and the beast were the only ones here.
“Do it.” The voice called again. It sounded more urgent this time. “Time is running out.”
Sia had nothing to lose. The beast could not reach her from up there. “King!”
Shrieks and howls sounded from beneath her. She looked down. The dark creature seemed to be writhing in pain.
It works? “King! Who are you?” Sia yelled out more clearly. “Please, save me!”
Light surrounded her. The beast was gone. She was on the ground. In a field. Flowers were all around her. The grass was greener than she could have ever imagined. She was dressed in a grey tee shirt and comfy jeans. Her scars were still there though.
“Where am I? Hello?”
A fragrance filled the air. A presence was there.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.”
Sia was confused. “Huh?”
The voice spoke again. “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Sia looked all around her. Someone was there but they could not be seen. They don’t walk in darkness, huh? Sounds nice… She wanted to be part of that.
“Who are you?” She asked.
“Call me King.”
“All right King, I want to follow you.”
Light engulfed Sia. She felt different but she was still the same person. She looked down and gasped. All her scars, big and small, were gone. Her skin was perfect.
She smiled. “Thank you, my King.”
