I didn't know when the boys would be home. I made sure to always look my best. Surely they would remember the dorky one they played with three years ago, but that's not who I was anymore. December was climbing closer by the time I gave up on being prepared for them.
A week before Christmas is when my mom knocked on my door. I was going through one of my emotions at that particular moment.
"One moment!" I called, hiding my blade under my mattress and putting on a band-aid on my wrist, covering it with a wrist sweatband. I opened the door to her smiling face.
"Come on downstairs, there is someone here to see you." I nodded and she walked away. I brushed my hair a little, just to be presentable, and made my way down to the living room. I stopped dead on the middle step. There was laughing, and Simone was sitting facing towards the stairs. I recognized Bill's hair instantly and figured Tom was right next to him. My face flushed and I reached my hand over the wristband. I straightened myself out and finished my descent.
"Y-you needed me, mom?" I asked sheepishly. Bill and Tom turned towards me, Simone already smiling at me. "Hi Simone, how are you?" I asked, hugging her lightly.
"Guten, how about you Kelly?"
"I'm fine." I glanced over to the boys and flushed lightly.
"Mein Schatz, can you get the mail for me?" I nodded and walked out the front door, down our short driveway to the mailbox. I sighed and put a hand over my heart. Beating fast as ever. How was I supposed to know that the twins were going to be in my house today? Of all days! I stumbled inside, handing my mom the mail.
"Anything else?" She shook her head. "Then I will be in my room." I looked over at Tom, catching his eye and smiling. I shuffled up the steps to where no one could see me, but I could hear them.
"Who was that?" I heard Bill ask.
"My daughter, Kelly. You remember her, don't you?"
"That was Kelly? That's impossible. It looked nothing like her." Tom said. "She was actually kind of cute." I heard him whisper to his brother. I smiled and climbed further and went to my room.
Tom Kaulitz thinks I'm cute?! I sat on my bed for a while. I barely registered that someone had been knocking on my door until they had opened it.
