Alice drove the spaceship, Zoltar, through the asteroid belt. Bang, bang, bang. Clouds of dust surrounded the ship as it was pelted by the tiny rocks. Dust tried to cloud her view but she was quick and cunning, swerving in and out of the rocks, cutting her way through the dust. Evelyn, sat behind her, looking out the window, feeling sick.
“F-,” she swore under her breath as a larger asteroid hit the ship, jostling it around and causing another wave of nausea.
“Grow up,” Alice yelled back as she expertly swerved through the belt. However, she was as nervous as Evelyn, knowing that one hit from one of the larger astroids could wipe them out.
It had been days and it seemed as though they weren’t getting closer to Xorgog at all. Just the other day they had passed through Abaltath and Evelyn knew as well as any that was far away from Xorgog. Luck suddenly ran out as the ship was hit in the side, causing it to swerve uncontrollably. Moving quickly and smoothly, Alice desperately turned the wheel, attempting to regain control. No matter how much she tried she couldn’t get the ship out of its hectic spiral.

Preparing the escape hatch Alice, helped Evelyn into her seat, fighting against the 0Gs. Quiet fell as they both realized their would only be room for one.

Ultimately, Alice closed the hatch and sent Evelyn on her way alone. Veering away from the ship, Evelyn looked back. When the final blow hit the ship, blowing it to pieces, she had the perfect view. Xorgog would never see the likes of Alice and Evelynn. Young and suddenly alone, Evelyn collapsed into tears.
