I was once again kicked in the back, forced to follow against my will. Why were they doing this? We had simply been living our lives, then these people, claiming to be the most righteous in Sol's eyes, turned our way of life upside down.
We were now slaves, my neighbours and I. Bound against our will, forced to fruitless labour, beaten day by day for the smallest of offences. I forced myself to balance, my legs unwilling to support my weight, but having no choice to- as if that was something we had in the first place.
The woman in front of me quietly sobbed, we lived across the street from each other. Her children were no longer with us, these 'righteous ones' had taken them away. Mt. Vicassida stood towering over us, once a sign of defiance and now a show of the presence of the endlessness until death. Something that awaited us all, some sooner than others.
Into the caves we were bound, given pickaxes to labour, while guards stood, watching over us. All of those who tried to escape found metal in their bodies, whether by form of weapon or pickaxe. There we laboured, the clinking of metal against metal. The sound of rock cracking. The bangs of guns firing. The thud of people falling dead. The hope that we'd be saved, or at the very least, killed.
Borealia had proved useless in all of this. They knew this was happening, but they'd do nothing. It was only due to our Royal Borealis that Borealia still existed, and if he had the powers Queen Auorouriana had, we might still be home, lying in our beds. Chatting with our siblings. Holding the children we no longer had. Tending to our gardens. Cooking for the family. Alas, such was no more.
I felt a tug around my neck; our daily quota was done. We would be sent to these tents, to sleep, just to wake up and labour, the cycle ever so repetitive. I looked up, the sky on the verge of tears- or was it anger? I never knew, it was as if the sky of our precious Luna was petrified by shock as to what the people she'd given the grace of living on her surface could do. Luna. A satellite named after a Borealis.
Aurouriana Borealis would be ashamed.
Melbourne Borealis would be ashamed.
Luna Borelalis would be ashamed.
Marie Borealis would be ashamed.
Nora Borealis would be ashamed.
I paused, the lava pool where they'd thrown our belongings and children sizzling nearby.
Hezago Borealis would be ashamed.
We had neared the gates, the tents standing just beyond the well they dared us to drink from, when we heard a chugging. I looked, and there was a bright light in the distance. Was it the sun? No, far too bright. It was nearing, it was nearing, no signs of stopping. I squinted my eyes in that direction, frowning.
It was the Borearcis, going nineteenth speed ahead, toward these gates. I was not the only one who had noticed, but when panic ensued, I was the only one who remained calm. The guards attempted to shoot it, but their bullets didn't even scratch the locomotive.
Our Monarch had come to save us, and when had his mind set on something, he'd do it. Hezago Borealis would save us all.
The train crashed into the gates, its light dying, but I knew it was still there. There was still chugging, and it shined once again. I broke myself free of my ropes, and watched from afar. Beyond the train, twelve feet in front of it, was Sol.
In all his glory, there thou was. So the sayings were true, our Monarch truly was our Sol. To think I argued otherwise. Thee stood there, and thee hath shone. Thou hath blessed me with thine. Rings of eye, ten in sum, oscillating in the morning sun. A smile stood upon thine's face, and an eye upon the same. Solid light, brighter than our 'source' of life, hands folded behind thous' back, radiant, glorious, and perfection in essence.
I was reminded of a song, though from a different religion. It went, "Thine Eyes Hath Seen The Glory..."
And My Eyes Truly Had.
Everything went dark thereafter, for Gloria had welcomed me.
