Tales of the Emblem - Three Little Taxpayers

She sat there, contemplating.

Now what was she to do?

Her children were too old to not have started anew.

For she had them,

Three in sum.

But to be completely honest,

She only favoured one.

She sat up and made a decision.

She'd kick them all out.

If they could survive out there,

She'd not have a reason to shout.

Out and about her son's whereabouts,

Out and about of the idiocy of the two,

As if she lost only two, she'd be fine,

But if she lost only one, what'd she do?

But the next morning, that served no matter.

She had them pack their bags,

Quick, fast and quicker.

The first one she threw out the door.

The second, out the window, what's more,

And the third she gave a car,

For she knew,

And was right,

That he'd go far.

So she watched from a distance,

And bid them adieu.

She was proud,

She was worried,

As to what their futures would do.

. . .

"Good Sir Wulfric, I require your assistance,"

"Yes, what shall it be? Will it be of most importance?"

"There are three 'little' pigs that owe us money."

"The International Revenue System? Well, that's quite funny!"

"But I'm serious, I am, so listen to me closely,

The first two cannot pay, so labour it shall be.

But the third can pay just fine, as he's rich, considerably."

"Very well, very well, I'll be off,"

"Yes, we'll be watching you, to top it all off."

So Sir Wulfric was off to find the three in dept,

And he would do so dutifully,

For in Galaxia, he'd find them,

And shockingly, quite quickly.

The first lived in a shoddy house

Just beyond the lane,

He worked a job as a janitor,

Something he thought a pain.

He bought the house a month ago,

With taxes he couldn't afford,

Though he knew it'd just keep piling up,

With his money below the floorboards.

He sat there, breathing,

On his couch, quite musty.

He thought there, thinking,

His house, quite dusty.

Then there was a knock,

A two, a three, a four.

Who could it be?

Who's at the door?

The 'little' pig stood,

Very much cautious.

Peeked through his blinds,

A situation quite voluptuous.

There was Sir Wulfric,

For the taxes he failed to pay,

For the money he didn't have,

For the things he failed to say.

This pig was alarmed,

And he formed a thought;

"I won't let him in!" were the words he thought.

He rushed to the stairs, attempting to hide,

And toppled right down them,

Rolling outside.

Attempt proved futile,

And Sir Wulfric bewildered,

He was picked up,

Right there, bottoms up.

He'd find himself in a camp,

Working off his debt,

And if he dare escape,

Bullets would catch him, I bet.

But off to the second,

The gluttonous little thing,

Let's see where he's found himself being.

. . .

This pig,

Spent his all on food.

Lived in a little cottage,

And borrowed all that he could.

He lazed in a chair

And worked customer service

But he started to wonder

Was being in debt worth it?

He snatched himself a sandwich

And ate while thinking.

He came to a resolution,

Something worth saying.

So when Sir Wulfric knocked,

He was quite well prepared.

Not to run, not to hide, but to propose,

Quite weird.

"Hello sir!" He said, fearing all the while.

"You've to take me away but i've a thing to say-"

"Well go on, I haven't got all day!"

"Well if you give me the chance,

perhaps a year or two,

My debt will be paid, we'll bid that adieu.

So what do you say, will you accept my proposition?"

"That depends on the way you will complete that motion."

"Well, I've saved enough to open a eatery of my own-"

"Why not pay the debt you own?"

"Well, you see, I can't afford it."

"Oh."

"But with this,

And a chance,

My bank account will dance,

And with luck,

I swear,

I'll pay it off in a third year!"

Sir Wulfric thought, eyeing the glutton before him,

"Well I suppose,"

He said, as he found no reason to resume imploring.

"As you said, you have three years.

By then you've to pay off half your debt, then you'll have no fears.

Your interest shall be frozen for that many years,

So good luck to you, shall you pay it, my dear."

So Sir Wulfric hopped in his car,

No second in hand,

The third would pay duly, and surprisingly,

Without command.

. . .

Knock knock, "Good sir, you've taxes to pay!"

"Finally, about time, I've been waiting all day!"

He opened the apartment door,

A bag of coins in hand,

And welcomed Wulfric in,

As said, without command.

He lived in an apartment, and spent money wisely,

Just didn't know how to do taxes, and always miscalculated, frankly.

"Here's the gold!"

Sir Wulfric took a look.

"You overpaid."

"Is that not or is it good?"

Sir Wulfric paused,

Thinking smartly.

"I suppose it is-"

"Good, good, luckily..."

"What's that?"

"No need! You may now leave,

Your presence is now unnecessary, and I need to breathe!"

And Sir Wulfric was shunted out,

Displeased by such manners.

But he got the money, so the disgrace didn't matter.

For he took care of the taxes,

And did so quite properly,

And those three little taxpayers

Would live sad, overworked, and happily.
