I guess I felt a little bit of comfort when I pulled this film out of my to-be-watched jar. The general mood and weather was very misty, and cold, and coming up to the end of autumn for another year in England. This stars child actress Mandy Miller who plays young Elizabeth sent to live in a posh area of London with her aunt and uncle. This is due to her mother being very unwell in hospital and her father busy with his 'business' affairs which all become clear later on in the film. Elizabeth's father warns her to keep his whereabouts secret but won't go into details as to why. It becomes clear to the rest of Elizabeth's family that something shady may be going on...
There were a few scenes in which Elizabeth participated in ballet classes that I liked, as well as her growing friendship with Cassie (the housemaid) who really does try to look out for her. A few moments of strong melodramatic emotions were what let the viewing down for me. I could sense the frustration between Elizabeth's family but it was too distracting from where the story was trying to go.
