Artinces were people with abilities that were kept under close watch of rhe military. It was mostly just to show that the MP’s were able to protect people from an Artince. Although, their abilities weren’t actually dangerous. The main ability was being able to contact a deceased being, able to create a mist form of them and communicate.
Sara continued to drag him until she yanked him to the very front. Aaron looked at what everyone seemed to be staring at; a small figure draped in a black cloak, the hood completely obscuring the face of the Artince. Aaron squinted, barely making out the Artince’s mouth out from under the hood.
”Aw, this is crap!” Someone complained.
”THIS is supposed to be an Artince?” A broad-shouldered man complained, pushing his way past Aaron until he stood in front of the Artince.
”Listen kid, it’s one thing to boast but it’s another thing to lie. So if you aren’t an Artince, GET THE HELL OUT!”
The Artince merely sipped a cup of cool water, gloved hands cupped around the sides, neither moving or speaking.
The burly man growled, his fists clenching, and knocked the small cup out of the figure’s hand onto the ground.
The hooded figure sighed, stood up, and began to walk away.
By now, the man’s veins in his forehead looked ready to pop, and tendons stood out on his neck in fury.
“Hey! Get back here!” He roared, lunging for the figure.
Aaron heard a grunt, and a solid thud as the man flopped onto the ground. People gasped and a few screamed at the sight. Aaron and Sara stood there, gaping.
The man’s ankles were encased in the rocky ground, like the earth had grown over his feet, trapping the man just inches from the little figure as he clawed pathetically at the ground.
”A-a-Artince! It really is an Artince!” He screamed.
The figure slowly turned to face the man, speaking in an ice-cold voice.
”This is a warning, the only warning you will ever get... Don’t. EVER. Touch me.”
”Y-y-y-yes m-ma’am! It won’t happen again, I swear!” He blubbered, tears streaming down his face.
The girl turned to leave and the ground sloshed back to where it had originally been, leaving the man to cower into a fetile position. But he didn’t appear to have any injury on him whatsoever.
”Did you see that..?”
“Didn’t even have to move...”
”I’ve never heard of an ability like that...”
”It’s just a little girl...”
The people continued to murmur, eventually dispersing and leaving Aaron and Sara.
”...Wow...” Sara breathed. “That was INCREDIBLE!”
