Persona in passage #490
Driving while sipping my coffee then suddenly an unidentified object was in front of me and I crashed. I woke up the next day – scratchless and spotless as ever – and found what caused me to go blank that midnight. I was relieved it was not my mind playing tricks on me or it could be and I’m just fine with it. So let’s go back to the mysterious chair that was placed several feet far from where my car was parked. It was there just like last night, until my vehicle disfigured it.
I went out of the automobile and inspected it. I knew it was harmless but anything can happen so I walked as slow as I could towards it and when I was close enough to see how old it was, I recognized the letters, the words vandalized on the sitter – since I know how to read.
“You… You’re…” I sighed, rolled my eyes before finally lifting the chair to the level of my eyes – making things easier and faster in such manner “You’re not alone. Someone is with you which you can’t see.” I threw the chair after understanding what it meant. I immediately ran into the car and locked myself up. I don’t know if it’s a normal reaction because there was too much caffeine in my blood or it is the truth that I unconsciously know.
It echoed in my mind… over and over again ‘You’re not alone.’ I knew ‘Someone is with you’ someone is watching me; observing my every move… my flaws and qualities are being counted ‘which you can’t see…’ I want to be free from this feeling… I want to wake up.
Seconds before system breakdown;
“EVA, give me a good reason why you let such conversation happen in passage number eight. We’re just making scenarios here so he can expel the truth, were not trying to make a dramatic-thriller plot here” Titus spoke like a furious director in a movie set.
“Upgrades for resource number 012897 have been installed by Luitenant Beitt to increase collection of resource’s knowledge and to improve mental and emotional engagement.” The system updates.
“Beitt!” The commander asked for the other official’s presence with anger.
“I’m here! Sheesh! What with all this negativity in you? Dou you know yoga? You need it.” His company tried to make him laugh as she walked towards the screens to check the problem “There’s nothing wrong here. Why did you scream like a girl?” she added.
“I need your explanation.” The officer from the legion of Moses pointed the reaction given by the subject after an encounter of an installed fabrication.
“It’s for his own good Commander.” She replied with a smile.
“We’re putting him in a zone where he can be himself not a nightm-” Before he could correct the ways of the other, an alarm started from the system who was managing the resource.
“Warning! Resource number 012897 is breaching point-conscience due to an invasive stimuli in passage number 490. Immediate solution is advised.” The system informed with red lights flashing all over its display.
“This is why you can’t upgrade a system while a resource is still under it!” Commander Titus began typing codes and pressing button to prevent the subject from waking up. Minutes later, the AI calmed and continued its procedures. “Delete what you have brought in his passages and I’ll be silent to the Courts.” He won’t let such problems occur again or worse, the resource could die.
“I won’t! Let me handle it. Take a break. Have a coffee. I promise when you’re back, the system can handle everything and you’ll get your regular sleep.” Lieutenant Beitt vowed with her life on the line.
He stood from the office chair and said without hesitation “As you wish but if you fail… Just pray to God the courts will consider you once more” he removed his gloves and whispered on his away – just enough to make her hear “We we’re once in the same line till you decided to go another path… now, where are you?... You’re too far behind.”
The officer from the legion of John gave no comment to her colleague’s words and began manually controlling the passages of the resource. While providing exaggerated negative motivations to the areas, her attention was caught by a persona in passage #22 “So that’s how his suit works” she thought. The observer made the sudden winter stop in the scenario and added more figures that exemplified a black hole “Why are you so scared of these things?” she eagerly wanted to know so she caused a flood to make them reach him. “Such a pussy” She commented for the certain subject cowered on the tip of the debris he rested on. For some reason, the surrounding felt heavier ‘Did they increase the gravity setting of this ship? It could affect the systems if they won’t fix it immediately’ she thought as she watches the lad go nuts.
“NO! DON’T! PLEASE!” The Lieutenant heard him beg yet she let him suffer for better results and answers. She was about to move her hair that somehow landed on her sight, and that was when she realized what was happening. The screens started flickering and all light objects within the vicinity are already floating. The AI was silent because of slow signals or disconnections; as well as the words and errors on the monitors were too blurry to be helped.
He screamed in the midst of the catastrophe “STOP!” then the systems and auto-pilot functions became inaccessible and the emergency power of the vicinity activated.
“Oops… I miscalculated again. Oh well, I hope they’ll just take that from my salary.” Beitt knew it was caused by the resource “I wonder if they’ll get him to join us because of this ability; being able to manipulate gravity could make any of our foes back down in an instant.” she chuckled.
