Persona in passage #388
“Warning! Asteroid belt ahead!” One of her robo-assistant, which was defective, warned though the ship already mentioned it would be unlikely to be crushed by those flying rocks.
“I know Bep, just stay calm. I’ll stir us out past this one and find a way where you won’t feel alarmed.” Their master comforted the fragile one.
“Ms. Drey, Dr. Aries is calling you. Would you like to answer or dismiss him? May I remind you miss, the connections in this area aren’t as strong as usual; I would advise to talk later after getting a strong signal.” Another robot asked for her attention.
“Nah, it’s fine here. I’ll answer it.” Bap pressed a button to open the conversation “Hello Dr. Aries. How can I help you?”
“Drey, I want you to listen, for we have not much time left.” The scientist was in monotone and he’s face on the screen just tells how serious the situation is. “I want you to run away as far as you can… and I want you to do it now after this call.”
“Why?” The soldier didn’t know what was happening but it sounded as if many lives are in danger and no one can do about it “I thinks it’s better to go back and hel-”
“It’s too late Drey!... This is the en-” A scream was heard from the call but it wasn’t from her company. “Everyone take the underground shelter!” He ordered his co-workers.
“But professor! We can’t leave without you!” One of Dr. Aries’ subordinate said.
“Just go I’ll prepare the ships! If any would start!” It was then concluded, everyone on earth cannot escape their fate.
The soldier did not listen to the person who felt like a part of her family and set her ship into hyperdrive to get back faster “I know what you’re doing and don’t you dare!” If they would all die, might as well die with them than to be lonely and regret that she have done nothing.
“Drey you are the last of our kind!” The young one paused; her finger was just a centimeter away from clicking the coordinates of her home “You’ll be ok…” Those three last convincing lies made her achieve the best things in life as well as lost them.
“I will return.” She stated and typed the code of the farthest star.
“There’s nothing to return… you’ll just be disappointed.” Dr. Aries didn’t stop looking at her plum eyes thought the world around him became darker and darker “Take care of yourself; this is your last order.” Then the call ended abruptly.
“I’ll be ok… I promise” Sergeant Drey was about to leave her current destination when the unknown dark entity caused all of the power to shut down and capture her in just mere seconds.
I breathe in fast… I woke up from the nightmare that felt too realistic. Is it truly just a dream or there’s something behind it? A sign? A message? A memory?
I don’t know anything.
The whispers of the wind soothes me and the bright light from a distant moves me. I thought it was just the sun but it blinds like the sky at noon. I looked back and saw the reddish orb floating above the land then I concluded the other ball of fire is at the east – the different direction who stays too near but as unreachable as it’s opposite.
Yet I was wrong again… for now I am facing a world I never knew exist.
My emotions were unknown, too mixed to name. I’m glad to find this place but I am as well, sad to know it is worse than the empty fields. There was a clear division of our reality; I got the untamed nature from behind and an urbanized slave in front of me. Instead of drowning myself with questions and theories again, I enjoyed my first moments with the new found land by stepping into it and getting some pictures of the devastated city.
Is this modern art or I’m just too far behind from the civilization? All was left soaked and crumbled because of the endless rain; is this some kind of a style? I admit the colors on the waters are pretty but everything else is dull and lifeless as far as I can see. Taking a few more steps forward, I felt the earth shake. ‘It must be the buildings falling apart?’ since I didn’t see anything that could flatten me, I kept calm but then the ground shook too fiercely that I can no longer stand. My eyes raced to find a safe place to stay but nothing in the world stood still at those seconds. I kept on walking around for survival until I saw the yellowish fields again. With all my last ounce of strength, I ran towards my territory…this universe hates me more than the other.
The second I arrived and look back, was the moment it all suddenly disappeared like a nightmare.
I laughed at my situation, there were tears on my lids… it was the first time I cried and I felt something deep… It hurts to know that I’m lonely and meaningless yet I can’t accept death as an ending.
I stood to continued my journey with the ever growing feelings and lessons inside of me… it is also when I felt lighter and more hopeful for some reason… I grabbed my device to commemorate the new beginning an-
Where’s my camera!?
“Phew! That will do it!” She entered the last commands and codes to the system.
“T-That w-w-will d-d… What’s wrong with you woman?! I swear if I could grind you to bits with the price of being excommunicated, I will still do it! I know this isn’t your fault but since the day your fingers touched those buttons the mess became a waste land!” The commander was fuming and his hands were ready to attack the source of his stress.
“Titus, chill. I handled the situation.” Beitt sighed heavily and turned back to the screens “I don’t know what made him recall a memory and trigger a connection with one of the fabricated realities but I do have a probable conclusion to it.” Then she smiled.
“No more! I’ll send a petition to the courts to send you to the void for your plans are clearly failing!” The officer from the legion of Moses exited the cubicle.
“Sure thanks! Cause tomorrow, I’ll just request that I’ll check the chemicals and compositions of his brain or body for it might be the reason to these undesirable results.” He paused to listen and think. Before he left to ask to the info desk if the courts are available for his foolish friend wants a permission to the body of resource number 012897.
