Mary just watched them decide her fate

" How can they send me out at a time so late,

Since i've lived, I never had a time of merriment

But humiliation and rebuke are lives i've spent.

Now in the woods I would end my pain

And no ugly stories of I again.

Few hours left to be eaten by witches or beasts

Whichever way tonight on me they'll feast ".

Mary thought in the cage she was kept

And her eyes were tired for so long she have wept.

Suddenly she saw someone coming near

" Wow to me, my cross is here for me to bear "

As the person draws nigh

Mary gazed and cry.

Then appear before her was a lady

And thus less scary,

Mary asked in fear

" Why are you here " ?

" I was the woman who stopped your punishment

For to you I feel great sentiment ".

" So are you here to help me ?

Or to my fate you will leave me be "

" I am here to rescue you

But if am caught , I will be in trouble too.

Few minutes left for you to be sent into the woods bare

You in such state will draw spirits near.

But I wish to send you somewhere else to hide

For the night is long, and pray God be by your side ",

Mary said in tears " you are very kind

Your type is hard to find."

The lady opened the cage and said

" Run,

Before the guards come you will be long gone ".

Mary ran far and hid under a tree

" please God be with me

For I am at a place I do not know

Direct me i have no where to go ".

The guards saw the cage empty of mary

And informed the chief " we've lost her,

The chief replied " And how should that make me worry

When to your lives I sorry,

You better find the witch before she goes far ".
