I looked into the past for inspiration,

and to the future with determination.

The present never seemed to offer a solution,

to my boredom and disillusion.

The days drag on,

the hours slow and long.

At the center of it all,

my black empty soul called.

Wishing for a death that never was,

and hoping for the one yet to come.

Ah,

to live,

but nay, sleep.

The brief moments,

where I felt alive are nothing.

Were nothing more,

but memories of illusions.

Life itself is nothing but an illusion,

each passing moment,

more meaningless than the last.

Oh but they look stupid,

running about their lives,

putting in effort...

only to die.

Why bother living the lie,
