The ten month year old daughter of Kathleen Johns was crying in the car. The young mother was going to Petaluma, California, to visit her sister. Johns, who was pregnant, saw the Zodiac Killer.
'I don't want to die'.
He saw the girl, and was about to kill Kathleen, when she escaped. She reported the incident to the San Francisco Police Department.
She was one of the few survivors of the killer; Mike Mageau was the other survivor. Paul Avery linked them together, and the nightmare was almost over.
