Today, I was playing in the backyard. I was digging with my shovel, looking for treasure. Then, I saw something shiny in the dirt. It was a rock, but it was super shiny, like a diamond! I thought, “Wow, this must be a magic stone!”
I picked it up. It was warm, like it had been in the sun. “Maybe it’s from a dragon’s cave,” I said to myself. I looked around. No dragons, just Fluffy, my dog. “Fluffy, look at this!” Fluffy came over and licked the rock. “Eww, Fluffy, don’t eat it!”
I ran inside to show Mommy. “Mommy, I found a magic stone!” Mommy was making peanut butter sandwiches. “That’s nice, honey. What makes it magic?”
“It’s shiny and warm, and Fluffy tried to eat it!” Mommy laughed. “Well, maybe it’s special. Why don’t you keep it in your room?”
“Okay!” I said. I took the rock to my room and put it on my shelf next to my teddy bear. “Now, you have a friend, Teddy.”
Later, I tried to make a wish on the stone. “I wish for a big ice cream cone!” I closed my eyes tight. When I opened them, there was no ice cream. “Hmm, maybe it only works sometimes.”
Then, I drew a picture of the stone with wings, because maybe it could fly. I showed it to Daddy. “Look, Daddy, my magic stone can fly in my picture!” Daddy smiled. “That’s a great imagination you have.”
Later, my friend Timmy came over to play. I showed him the magic stone. “Wow, that’s cool!” he said. “Do you want to hold it?” I asked. “Yes, please!” I gave him the stone, and he smiled big. “It feels warm!” he said. Seeing Timmy happy made me happy too. Maybe the stone’s magic is sharing it with friends.
