As many people would know, I'm normally not one for big words or many words at all actually, but those would be the people that know me in person. On Penana however, it's easier to express the real me.
I've "met" amazing people and have been given nothing but great support from complete strangers that live half-way around the world, all struggling to get on with their own lives while we find our escape on this 'safe-zone forum'.
I never thought it would be so relieving to be able to express all the ideas I've had bunched up in my head for so long and just how amazing it felt when they were accepted by the voices outside my head for once. I've never felt more compelled to write out all my weird fantasies and fictions for the world to see.
I don't want to mention names so I'll keep certain people in suspense as to who I'm referring to. (Although hopefully the people will know themselves). To the person who presented this great opportunity to me by inviting me into the community that is slowly but surely becoming a great big writing family, thank you for welcoming me into this auspicious space that has only allowed me to grow as a writer. To the first two authors that inspired so much of my passion with either their fanfictions or mysteries, thank you for showing me the ropes and allowing me to get comfortable with my own writing by following your examples. Finally I would just like to thank each and everyone person who has read, liked or commented on any of my works with either a personal novel or competition piece. I salute everyone one of you for building my confidence up a little bit at a time, you guys are the real MVP's.
Now with all my thank you's out of the way, I would like to just extend a word of encouragement to everyone out there to keep up the good work and never give up. The end may not be near, but it's always better to enjoy the journey while you can still experience the thrill of achievement waiting just in front of you.
