The mysterious being that has appeared to me only three times that I can remember. Twice during a memory, and once about 10 minutes ago. His purpose for interfering in my affairs is unknown. I have to get rid of him. Dr Lyons and Dr Reede said that it's an internal force, and I have to look inside myself to find him. The first time I remember encountering him I was asleep, having a form of nightmare. That was many decades ago. Now what do I do this time? Fall asleep? Meditate? Knock myself out? "Try the meditation first, Flint." Lyons suggested, "The others can be plan B and C." So I sat at the end of my hospital bed and starting concentrating. And concentrating. And a little more concentrating. Nothing. Literally nothing.
"Holy Hell, Flint!" Dr Reede exclaimed. I opened my eyes to see the both of them staring at me, mouths open. Lyons had fallen out of his chair in shock and Reede was pointing and gasping. I had no clue why. I looked around, and instantly knew what was up. I had unknowingly entered Plasmatic Mode, and the force from that was lifting me up into the air. Am I in the process of meeting the jagged-mouthed man? Lightning energy crackled all around the room, destroying the life support machinery and blood bags. Blood spurted everywhere, onto the floor, onto the ceiling, even splattering the doctor's white coats. I began to rise ever so slightly higher, with the chairs and bed rising alongside me. "Whoa! What's happening?!" I heard both Ben and Sophie cry out. They started floating as well! This power! It's immensely incredible! And before I could comprehend it, I blacked out.
I opened my eyes, but it didn't seem like I did. Nothing but blackness for seemingly miles. I went into Plasmatic Mode to try and light up my surroundings. I could see better, but still couldn't see anything anywhere. I walked around for a little bit, my footsteps echoing endlessly. I called out into the abyss: "Hello?" No response. I fired off some plasma bolts to light it all up. Still nothing.
"Oh? You're finally here?" I heard a voice boom all around me, "My my! I'm not dressed yet! And I haven't cleaned up!"
"Don't play games with me!" I retorted back, "Who the hell are you?"
"Heh heh heh," he laughed, mysteriously, "That's an interesting question, Flint. It's not like you've asked me that before."
"Why, you!"
"Yes. Why, indeed."
"You're so goddamn cryptic! I figured out a way to get to you, and this is what you greet me with?"
"I told you, I'm getting dressed."
"No you're not! You're just getting me riled up! Now come out here so I can kick your ass!"
"You want to kick my ass, eh? Well I'm afraid that you're the only one whos ass is going to get handed to them."
"Then stop being a bitch and fight me!"
"Fine." A small hint of anger could be found in his voice, "I'll reveal myself to you." A purple spark appeared in front of me. I recoiled backwards, surprised, as I could see that it was growing in size. Out stepped a completely black figure, similar to Shadow, yet Shadow was wild in demeanour. This guy seems more sophisticated. More refined. He wore a rolled up shirt that was underneath a blue velvet waistcoat. He wore a black tie, contrasting the white of his shirt, but also complimenting his body colour. His trousers were rather tight against his legs, and he wore polished dress shoes. He had angled eyes and his trademark jagged mouth. His hair was completely white, just like his eyes and mouth. But the surprising thing was that he had spikes that came out of his elbows and forearms. Blood red spikes that pierced me with fear for some unknown reason.
"Now I can finally introduce myself. Hello, Flint. My name is Luca."
"Oh my..." I gasped.
"You surprised? I guess I can forgive you for that. You've never seen anything like me, have you?"
"Yeah, but I don't know what you are!"
"All in due course, Flint. Now what was that you said about kicking my ass?" Without hesitation, I sprinted at him, Plasmatic Mode still activated, and threw a punch. But when I went to hit him again, he wasn't there. "Missed me." I turned around and saw his permanent smile grow into a smug grin. The nerve of him! I spun around and went to kick him in the ribs, but again, he disappeared. "I thought you were fast, Flint. Maybe not as fast as me." For a third time, he disappeared. And then reappeared. I can barely keep up with him. My eyes can't make him out, he's just a blur all around me. It looks like he's cloned himself, but it's just the after image of him speeding around. Concentrating energy all around my body, I released it in one big explosive blast. All of his after images disappeared, and I could see his real body. He didn't even flinch from the attack. I sprinted at him and threw one of the strongest punches I have ever thrown in my whole life. It connected, but not where I wanted.
His fingers transformed into sharp claws and dug into my hand. Luca then grabbed me by the throat and chokeslammed me. Even before any wind was knocked out of me, I was lifted into the air and thrown down again. Repeatedly, I was being slammed into the ground with no restraint or remorse. He's an unforgiving creature. I tried punching him to get him off of me, but he still wasn't letting up. I remembered N.A.D.A, and transformed it into a spear, piercing him in the diaphragm. He finally let go of my neck, and stumbled backwards when I took the spear out. I infused it with some Plasmatic energy, then stabbed him again, creating a lightning spear. He fell into the ground with this attack, proving that Plasmatic Mode will do the most damage to him. I transformed N.A.D.A into a sword, as well as activating my grapple sword. Without letting him catch his breath, I ran at him again, swinging my swords with intensity and precision. He managed to dodge the majority of my attacks, but when a couple of them started to hit, he started to parry them with his arm spikes. We were locked in a battle of blades. Sparks flew as we clashed, the seriousness shining through Luca's soulless eyes. He then deflected my swords with such a force that I was blown backwards, with Luca charging into me, knee first.
He then sliced across my chest with his arm blades and blood gushed from the wound, coating my jacket in all kinds of red shades. He then followed up with an elbow to the abdomen, which, because of the blade there, stabbed straight through me, tearing a hole in my stomach. Despite this injury, I concentrated energy into a ball, slamming it into Luca's chest in retaliation. "Woah, calm down, Flint Uzumaki."
"I appreciate the reference," I said, clocking him in the jaw, "but the reference means nothing coming from you!"
"That hurts," he said, dodging backwards from a potential third hit in a row, "The insult, not the attack." He then changed his stance, holding a weird position. A circle of fire started to form around his feet, and small balls of fire began to spin all around him. This is his power. I have lightning, and he has flames.
The balls of flames immediately began flying at me, but I managed to deflect most of them with my shield. It wasn't long before he started using his powers like a flamethrower, putting me under a lot of heat and pressure. It felt like he was going to turn me into a human diamond. Eventually, I stood up and charged at him, shield still equipped, and slammed into him. Pinning him with N.A.D.A, I sent electricity to my fist and punched him repeatedly in the face, punching him hard enough to cause scarring on his face. He threw me off of him and threw more fire at me. I was knocked down, but I got up again. "You're never keeping me down, Luca!"
"Good. Makes you more of a challenge." He wound up for a flamethrower attack, but it was more precise, like a long range blow torch. It took me by surprise, and I was hit in the lung. I lost my breath for a few seconds, and in those few seconds, Luca ran up to me and surrounded his fist in fire. With literal blazing fury, he punched through my chest, cauterizing the wound as he removed his fist. I could still breath, but only enough to keep me alive. "Now that you've lost, Flint, how about I tell you a little something? Instead of what I was planning for originally."
"What? Even though I was the one that got my ass kicked, you're still gonna tell me stuff?"
"I may be an asshole, but I'm not a total ass."
"Then stop waffling and tell me stuff!"
"I will." He paused. A solemn silence filled the black void. "I am the source of half your power."
What? Half of my...
"You haven't earned the right to know where the other half of your power comes from. And haven't earned any more of my power yet, either. When you were being tortured by your foster sister, Rachel Winters, I couldn't stand by and see you get torn to pieces, so I gave you a small amount of my power, which you have called Plasmatic Mode. I like that name, by the way. Rolls off the tongue."
"How much of your power is Plasmatic Mode?"
"I'd say about five percent." Five percent? If that's how strong I am at five percent, I wonder how strong I'll be with all of his power. "But then, whilst you were fighting that Shadow fellow, you tapped into more of my strength, without me even giving you any! That's why the lightning has turned purple. You now have ten percent. My deal with you is that, if you manage to fully defeat me, then you will unlock more of my power. I will also tell you more information about you and I."
"Sounds like a deal, Luca." I tensed up my entire body, sending the purple energy all throughout my body. The wound Luca gave me healed up, and I was ready to do battle once more. I grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the gut, sending lightning into his body. The energy blasted him backwards, so I sped up to reach him, kicking him in the ribs. I could hear loud cracks and snaps from the attack, but despite this, Luca seized my leg and threw me into the ground. He tried to burn me, but I rolled out of the way, jumped up, then kicked him again. He recovered soon after, then sliced me with his blades. I deflected a follow-up attack with the shield, then transformed it into a spear and stabbed him through the chest. He looked up at me with vicious intensity, right before I sent some electricity into the spear. Again, he was blasted backwards. He landed with grace, quickly sprinting back at me, throwing even more fire at me than before. I was quicke this time, so I fired off multiple bolts to counter them. They exploded, leaving clouds of dark smoke. He emerged from the clouds, blades at the ready. He clashed them together, creating sparks, and setting them on fire! His prowess in pyrokinesis is legendary.
He swiped multiple times at me, burning my clothes. I ran away, patting out the flames as I went. He started spinning around in circles, creating a human fire tornado. I tried blocking him with the shield, but he broke through and knocked me down. Pressing his forearm against my throat, he slit it slightly, drawing a small amount of blood. Before any decapitation could take place, I kicked him off of me and jumped backwards. As I recovered, he made his way closer to me, swiping once again. I parried them with my grapple sword, then slammed my palm into his chest. Powering a surge of electricity through N.A.D.A, I tasered Luca. He collapsed, and I stabbed him whilst he was down. I picked him up then kicked him, with some serious force. I rushed him, then kicked him again. I went to repeat, but he caught my foot and tore my leg from my body. He then spun and kicked me in the chest in response to my attack. I was knocked backwards for the millionth time, and saw Luca summon a fireball. "This has gone on long enough, Flint! I'm putting an end to this!"
"You have things to tell me, so I'm gonna defeat you here and now!" I charged energy into a ball in my hands.
We fired.
