His footsteps could be heard all down the corridor. For a week they have had him in custody, and it was finally time for the secret plan to be put into action. He was almost late, so he had to speed up his steps, without seeming too suspicious. His bionic arm periodically reflected in the dim lights of the painfully long, gloomy corridor. Either side of him there were multiple doors that led to equally as dark rooms. They were filled with failed experiments. Deliberately failed experiments, though, as his colleagues cloning technology was sabotaged by them, in order to prevent any powerful beings being released. However, there were experiments that they were forced to make work: A-118, A-119, A-120 and A-150. He has to be able to release A-98 to be able to take down the working Projects. If any of the failed experiments were to escape, they would wreak havoc. But A-98 can stop them, if they were ever released. He finally reached the end of the corridor, scanning his Black Star keycard to enter. "Welcome, Dr Lyons."
When he walked into the holding room for A-98, his colleague, Dr Reede, was waiting for him. "Are we ready to cause some mayhem, Sophie?"
"I sure am, Benjamin." She flipped off the plastic cover and pushed the big red button. An alarm started going off and the chamber containing A-98 opened up. Rising up, the two doctors could see his masked face start to gain some life. But then the Code: Black alarm started ringing. Someone had broken into the laboratory! But before they could check the cameras, the invaders had blasted a giant hole in the side of the A-98 holding room. It A-118, A-119 and, most unfortunately, A-120!
"A-120! What are you doing here?" Sophie shouted.
"That is not my name anymore, and you know it, Mother." he replied, "It is Shadow now, and the rest of the Five and I have to step in. I never thought it'd be you two who'd betray Black Star. I trusted you, Mother! Father! You raised me and now you're shutting me out!"
"You stopped being our son ever since you started taking innocent lives!"
"Please. These peasants aren't innocent. The weight of their sins prevents us rising to the future! And that's why we have to stop Flint! His sins outweigh all of ours combined!"
"But he can help bring us back from despair!"
"Too late! He dies today!" But as he charged up one of his shadow energy blasts, likely one he used to blast through the wall, Flint snapped his head towards him and glowed with a lightning aura. He too charged up a blue energy blast and they were locked a beam-off. Flint seemed to be controlled by some ethereal force. His eyes glowed with intimidating anger, and overpowered Shadow, knocking him far back, along with A-118 and A-119. He levitated out of his chamber, lighting forked all around him, destroying the machinery. Eventually his power was breaking past its own limits, and his whole body became blue. Is this his true power? Or is he just getting warmed up? Lets just hope that he can defeat Shadow. But as his power grew, he couldn't hold it in. It all released at once, creating a giant explosion. Dr Lyons put his arm in front of Dr Reede and pressed a button on it: a blast shield appeared out of his bionic arm, his latest addition to it in the last 2 years at being at Black Star. The shield wasn't enough though. The two doctors were still blown back with an incredible force, and the laboratory became dust and ash.
Flint floated down and came out of his trance, looking around with confusion. How did he end up here? How did he destroy what was around him? He did not know, but only heard screams. Screams of people he can save.
