Luca kindly opened up a portal for me, ready for a final battle. According to him, this would break a 'Hell Contract' he has with me, as he calls it. The breaking of this mysterious contrast would allow him to reveal so much more information to me. I would finally get all of the answers I need: Who placed the contract, where all of my powers come from, what this 'demon invasion' he spoke of will entail. He truly has become a trusted ally over the past two years. His behaviour has become less cold, and the emotional outburst he had only minutes ago proves that maybe his only Demonic features are physical. Someday I may be willing to call him a friend.
I stepped through the portal, once again into the black abyss of his realm. He stood a few feet apart from me. "Would you mind me reminding you of the terms of this bout?"
"I don't mind at all."
"Well, it's exactly like the first time. If you defeat me in battle, then I shall grant you more of my power."
"You still have more power to give?" I was shocked. "Universal Mode is already crazy enough!"
"Oh you have no idea, Flint" He smirked slyly. "And also, of course, my Hell-Contract will be destroyed in my defeat."
"And what classes as a defeat?"
"When you land a blow on me that would kill me if I were not immortal. The same goes for you, too. My immortality grants you immortality, if you remember."
"I remember alright. Just feels weird knowing that"
"So? Are you ready?"
"Yes. Yes I am."
I activated Plasmatic Mode, and with a burst of lightning, I rushed Luca, trying to catch him off guard. My nanotech fist was blocked by Luca's arm blades, and the true battle had begun. I transformed L.I.M.D into a Warhammer, taking Luca by surprise. I swung with great force, striking him in the side. He stumbled, but quickly recovered and counterattacked. I swung again, blocking his attack. Changing the Warhammer back into a fist, I leapt at him, punching at his jaw. He strafed to the side, slicing my side. Blood leaked, but I very quickly healed from it. Charging electricity into N.A.D.A, I readied a thunderous punch. Luca sliced once more. I moved underneath it, hitting him with a strong uppercut. He flew up, but dived back down at me. I transformed me arms into one big shield, just in time for me to block a heavy axe kick from him.
Taking a page from his back, I turned N.A.D.A into an axe, chopping down on him. He kept moving out of the way, making attempts at more counterattacks, but they were deflected by a circular shield I had made. My decision to take the Viking approach worked in my favour. Perfectly balanced. I just kept swinging and swinging at him. As he deflected blow after blow, I started becoming more erratic in my movements. Swinging faster and harder, spinning around him like a ballet dancer on copious amounts of bath salts. His speed matched mine, so I had to get faster. And faster I got. My lightning started striking the ground around us, and tearing slightly at Luca's clothes. I slammed my shield directly into his ribs. He flew backwards, so I sprinted at him, destroying all of the floor in my wake.
He blocked my attack and threw me over him. I felt my spine break and heal in the same 5 seconds. He slammed his fists into the ground next to me, after a well-timed roll away from him. He then scraped his fists along the ground for a low punch. He struck me across the jaw, and I rolled across the ground for quite a distance. I jumped up just in time to see Luca appear in a burst of flames. He had begun to use his fire abilities. A fireball flew at me. I clicked my fingers. A bolt of lightning shot from them, stopping the fire. There was still more fire coming my way. I kept zapping them with my finger blasts, but it wasn't enough. One of them struck me in the abdomen. Luca took the chance so he could strike me there with his fist, then kicking me in the side. I flew quite a distance. I struggled to lift myself up when I saw Luca's arm blades begin to glow. I looked at the palm of his hand, and another ball of fire began to glow in his hand. And he was aiming to fire directly at me!
I powered up into Plasmatic Mode, using as much power from it that I could. The lightning emitting from my body increased in power and volume, and light flowed into and out of my nanotech arms. I was exhausting all of my electrical ability to perform this defensive maneuver. Luca brought his arm back and thrust it forward. A gigantic fire blast shot at me. A wave of intense heat cooked my face, and I released all of my concentrated lightning.
The fire hit me with the speed and weight of an alcoholic freight train. I was slowly being pushed into the ground, a small crater forming where my feet were. I pushed back against it as best as I could. But my arms were beginning to strain. This was much worse than lifting that boulder. I could feel my shoulder bones start to twist and crack under the pressure. I was still resisting, though. Pushing back little by little. His flames started to peel off my skin, but my regeneration rate was faster than the burning rate. I could hear him begin to shout something at me, but I didn't know what it was he was shouting. So I started shouting back. Screaming, even. In pain. In frustration. In desperation. In perspiration. My sweat almost made me slip up. And with one last aggressive cry of barbarism, the flames finally stopped. And my aura of electricity stayed. I saw Luca's eyes widen in shock and amazement. My lightning exploded completely, and I changed into my more powerful state: Universal Mode.
I blinked, disappeared, and reappeared in front of Luca. Our fists collided and a great force came from the impact. We started exchanging blows. Attacking, blocking, redirecting, counterattacking. Not a single fatal blow could have possibly been landed. We were just as fast as each other. I tried to get an advantage by creating swords with both of my arms. I swung repeatedly, driving him backwards. Flames licked at his jacket, and I could see panic begin to set in. If he gave up now, neither of us would be able to help each other. The sparks that flew from my swords and his arm blades blinded us until our eyes burned. I turned the N.A.D.A sword into a spear a stabbed it at Luca. He caught it in between the spikes on his arm and tried to break mine. I span around, turning L.I.M.D into an axe, slamming it down on him. It embedded in his shoulder, but he pulled it out and broke it off of L.I.M.D. The nanotech reformed and returned to the arm. I used his confusion to my advantage, blasting fire at him. He managed to block it, falling backwards. I came out with another sword, waiting for his next attack. He was charging up yet another fire attack, but instead of an orange ball, it was a purple disc.
He threw it at me, and when I tried to deflect it, it was replaced with Luca! A smug smirk grew across his face as he planted his foot in the bottom of my jaw. I flew up into the air, and Luca kept punching me higher and higher. We wrestled, laughing manically, before he punched me straight into the ground.
"How the hell did you get to me so fast?"
"I didn't make purple fire. I made a portal!"
"What?"
"My portals are purple, so if I shrink one, throw it, then exit it by entering through another, I can reach you without needing to move. See?" He created another one, throwing it past me. He teleported behind me, slicing at my back. I blocked it with a shield, then tried the spear stab again. He landed then leapt off of it, slamming his knee into my nose in the process. As I fell backwards, he grabbed my hair and slammed the back of my head into the ground as he landed. He made an attempt to choke me out by crushing my throat with his thighs. I turned my hands into claws and started tearing at his legs. No blood leaked, as he kept regenerating.
I grabbed his shins then slowly began to lift myself up off of the ground. My strength was exponentially growing. I lifted him up onto my shoulders, grabbed him by the ribs, then slammed him into the ground. Hard. Instead of his skull being destroyed or his neck being snapped, his arms stopped me from doing so. With his legs still wrapped around me, he pummeled me straight into the floor. He then started punching me repeatedly. Shockwaves were emitted with each hit as I put my arms up in front of my face. Nanotech broke off of my arms with each punch, reforming slower than Luca was hitting. I deactivated Universal Mode, and then reactivated Plasmatic Mode. Lightning came down from above to imbue me with strength, striking Luca on the way down. I kicked his shocked body off of me, activated Universal Mode, then got ready to have another physical altercation with Luca.
Once again, our fists were locked in a seemingly eternal battle. This time I was coming out on top. My stamina well was deeper than that of Luca's. He kept blocking my hits and my fists started to get cut and bleed. That didn't stop me though. My eyes burrowed into Luca's void of a soul as I punched at the speed of 5 fighter jets. It wasn't any fire that was causing these explosions: it was the sound of me breaking the sound barrier multiple times. That was how fast I was going. The intriguing allure of the rest of Luca's power that could be given to me fuelled my assault. The more I punched, the more in pain he began to look. At last, I was ready to seal my victory. I transformed L.I.M.D into a spear once more, puncturing Luca's thick skin.
Victory was mine.
Luca slumped to the ground, broken. Not only was he physically broken, but also this supposed Hell Contract he was talking about. I loomed over him, curious. Deactivating my weaponry, I went to make sure he was alright. On his knees, he clutched his stomach, his devastating wound already healing. "Are you alright?" I asked. He started to groan. "Hey Luca, you are definitely immortal, right?" The groan got louder and louder. And elongated. Then the groan turned into a chuckle. The chuckle broke into a laugh. He doubled over, wheezing from laughing. "Hey, don't trick me like that!"
"You were scared? Scared for MY life, Flint?"
"Maybe? What's it too ya?"
"Nothing. It's incredible! You're the first person to have done some actual damage to me!" He stood up and approached me. "I can tell you this whole-heartedly, Flint: you are the strongest person I know." He was lying. It wasn't true. I'm not strong.
"I'm not that strong, Luca."
"Yes! You are! You just don't realize it!"
"Stop complimenting me." I said, deadpan.
"If you insist." He clapped his hands and rubbed them together. "And now we get to the main course!"
"This is the main course? That whole ordeal was only a starter?"
"It's nothing compared to what I'm about to tell you, Flint. Operation: Beelzebub is far beyond comprehension! It's a matter of Hell versus Earth, Flint! Black Star has made an alliance with Hell! That's why they've been summoning Demons! They want to create a clone army of empowered, advanced Demon, and combine their forces with that of Hell's! We have to stop them Flint! You and me! Brothers in arms!"
It was all so shocking. I had never seen Luca so energetic before. So expressive. It was desperation. Knowing that at last he could tell me these things must be such a huge relief for him. I was ready to support him.
"Ok, this is all so sudden. But I'm gonna need more context!"
"Oh I can tell you. I can tell you everything! Finally!"
