I was forced, and was told to watch over him. He threatened many people of the most horrifying things. This was the right thing to do. Why can I not pull the trigger? Is there some mercy in this broken heart? I hated these kinds of men. One of him stabbed my heart, and left with a peaceful expression. WHY?
Dave Trane, the most feared criminal in all of America. I am a part of the government, finding him, and killing him is my job. This is for this country, for all the innocent people left. I tried to fix a man with love and kindness, but he took it and broke it into pieces. Yeah, I know this sounds like another cliche love story between a heartbroken woman, meeting another man that will heal her heart, and a secret love, but who cares?
My one task was to secretly find Dave Trane, assassinate him and all his traces should be gone forever. After months of tracking him down, I finally was able to go to the same place where he was. It was at a hig storage place, so I hid behind big boxes, with my weapon in hand. Everyone said he was dangerous, the most scariest person of all history. However, no one was ever able to see him in person. I heard footsteps coming towards me, I gulped and stood out with my weapon out in hand. I expected a very greedy, kind of plump person to appear, but all I saw was a very tall man, with broad shoulders, messy hair, and sharp jaws. He looked so confused for a moment, almost like he was still in highschool, but then he quickly, and quite awkwardly changed into a very synthetic "mature and scary" face. I let out a chuckle. I coughed and tried to make this awkward situation better.
"Are you Dave Trane?" I asked.
"Uhhhhh...... yes...? No... Yes I am!" I muttered, not very confidently.
"Wait... before I kill you for your horrible deeds, how old are... you?" I slyly questioned?
"... *sigh* I'm 18, senior highschooler to be exact." He replied.
"Is this some kind of joke to you? Do you think you can just threaten people here in the U.S. and get away with it?"
"I haven't done anything yet, did I?" He smirked.
I blushed. His smirk made my heart beat, it felt so out of place... I haven't felt this in years... Snap out of it Valerie! You're already 25! Snap. Out. Of. It.
He didn't have any weapons on, so I pointed it up some hanging boxes right above him.
"So... should I end you right here, or make you have a slow death?"
"How about... a deal?"
I stopped. "Did you say... a deal?" I answered, cautiously.
"Yep. You let me have my life, then I won't do any criminal things anymore. Aaand you can watch over me just in case." He smiled.
"What?"
That was my last minute of sanity. The next days, weeks, and months, he followed me around, and surprisingly, didn't do anything that would effect anything. During those weeks and months, he did something to me. I smiled and laughed for the first time in years. He changed me, and I changed him. He had a corrupted childhood, while I had a horrifying childhood as well. We understood each other, but he overcame those problems in the wrong way.
One night, I was at a cafe, when Dave sat right in front of me and smiled.
"Hey Valerie."
"Hey," I chuckled.
"You want to... ahem... go out with me... sometime...?"
I stopped sipping my coffee. I looked at him, and all I saw was a tall, handsome boy, blushing like he never did before, 7 years younger than me, sitting there. I blushed just as well, so we sat there, looking down.
I replied, "If I say yes, you do know that life won't get any easier? And you're 7 years younger than me?"
"I don't care. You saved me from being behind bars for the rest of my life, you straightened out my life for me, and you decided to keep me a secret, wh.. which earned my trust... a-and-"
I laughed and said, "Dave you're so adorable!! *sigh* I had a rough love life before I met you. He was a dangerous, and bad man, but I put up enough courage to help him become a better person. Yet he left me, all alone in this world, while breaking my heart." I put my hands on my chest. "He broke me... here. But when I met you, a small, microscopic piece of my heart spread warmth all around, and I thank you for that."
He looked at me, with small tears in his eyes, probably thinking I'll turn him down.
"Heheh... Dave?
"Yeah...?"
"You realize our relationship will have to be secret, until you show the world you became a better person right?"
His face became a bit brighter as I said it.
"Don't you dare smash me to pieces, like that bastard, did right?"
He boomed of laughter, and his face lit up all the way, which made my heart pounce so much. Up until this day, we persevered every obstacle between our relationship, and now, we are living a happily ever after, while finding all of the bad people in this world. And all of this happened from me not pulling that one trigger.
A/N: I'm not sure if that was all the way cliche, but I did my best ^^ I might have some mistakes, but I went over it many times! Thank you for reading :)
