I felt my mom pulling on my hair while I fidget with my locket. "You'll be safe Dalila" "I am more worried about you mother" "I will be here at the castle, making sure we win this war that the southern king has started" I sigh deeply and get up from my chair heading to the window. I saw a dark colored carriage pull up, I looked away and sighed again. "I don't even know them mother" "honey you can trust them, Lord Himlock was a good friend of your father, and didn't you trust your father?" I look at the carriage then at the black horses pulling it. "Of course I did, he never gave me a reason not to" "then you can trust Lord Himlock and his sons, now stand still so I can finish your hair" "how may sons dose he have?" "Four, one is about your age I believe" "I don't plan on getting married to any of them mother" "yes I know" "what can you tell me about them?" "Well, there is Baldrick the oldest of the four who is smart, caring and the most like their mother I believe" "can you tell me about their mother?" "Well sadly she killed one night after Florence was born, what I can remember is that she was a kind and caring mother but she did have her moments when she could be strict" "wait so Florence is the youngest?" "Yes, I believe that Lord Himlock told me that he is the most shy, and innocent one of the four." I looked out the window seeing gray clouds forming. "What about the other two?" I look back at my mother who just finished putting my hair up in a tight fancy braided bun. "Well there is Alastair who is a hopeless romantic, then dear Damon he really hated people after his mother got killed, he was never really the same after. He use to be caring, loving and open, now he keeps to himself mostly, he can be rude at times but he still cares for his family, and he is a ladies man but he just shut his heart up." There was a soft knock on the door "come in" I could hear my mother's voice crack that she was trying to hide. A guard came in and looked at us, "everything is set m'lady" "thank you, give us a few minutes please go ahead and take her things" he nodded took my bags and left. I turned back to my mother and look up at her. "Listen honey if things don't work out, remember your father and I love you no matter what" "mother please don't say that" "dear, there is no way we can tell what will happen in this war" I nod as she hugs me and stroke my head gently then kisses it. "The carriage is ready m'lady" I let go of my mother, then and there was a clash of thunder hit making me jump a little. "It's time dear" I look up at my mother and took a deep breath as I hugged my mother one last time feeling her kiss my head one last time. I left with the guard looking back at my mother who was holding her necklace facing away from the door.
I was lead by the guard outside quickly, hopefully before the rain started. I stepped up to get in the carriage. "Your highness?" I stop and look up at the guard who helped me threw my fathers untimely death. "If I don't see you again, I would just like for you to know that is was a pleasure to serve you" he bowed and all I could do was smile, I kissed his cheek "it was an honor to have you serve me" I held in tears and started to get in the carriage again. "Dalila!" I look up and see Kyle. "Kyle please don't make this difficult" I look away still holding in tears hoping that Kyle wouldn't make this harder for me. "I just wanted to see you before you left, but I had to do my chores before I could" I smiled and hugged him tight. "You know I might not ever see you again" "I know, but here" he handed me a box with a ribbon tied on it. "Sorry about the poor wrapping all we have is the box and ribbon" he rubbed be hind his head and looked away from the corner of his eyes. I smiled in doing the ribbon then opened the small rectangular box. In it had a few ivory cards with white envelopes and a pen. "Aww Kyle" "my mother found it in a box last night, it was never used so she figured you could use it" I smiled and hugged Kyle "thank you so much, I'll miss you" "miss you too" I smile and got in the carriage the guard closing the door behind me. I felt the carriage shift as is started moving. I let go of the ribbon and saw Kyle catch it. I smiled and wave goodbye, I see my mother at the large hallway window and waved at her but she turned away covering her face. I let out a deep breath and took a deep breath as we speed up and the rain started.
I jolted awake as the carriage came to a halt. I looked out the small window hiding behind the small curtains. I saw a gray brick mansion with vines climbing up the sides, black windows, a cobblestone path lined with rose bushes. The door opened and a white gloves hand came into view, I took the hand and stepped down onto the cobblestone path. "We will take your things to your room princess" "thank you" I took a deep breath and walked to the fount door. A beautiful bark brown door loomed over me with a gold scull knocker on it. I took a deep breath and knocked.
