They flew around for quite some time, not finding anything or anyone. “How are we going to find anyone if we don’t know where they are?” Alice shouted over the wind to Peter, who whispered into Ajax’s ear, and they suddenly swooped down in the middle of the woods. But something was wrong.
Ajax lost control and they were suddenly falling, falling, until they crashed into the ground.

When Alice woke up, she was met with a happy and familiar sight.
“Whoa, are you guys okay?” she heard Richard ask.
Luke and Skylar helped Alice up, while Helen and Richard focused on Peter and Adalene.
“Who’s this?” Richard asked as he helped Adalene up.
“Let go of me,” Adalene protested, ripping herself away from Richard, “I can get up myself.”
Peter had more trouble, however, grasping his side as Helen helped him up. Peter then got his bearings, and rushed to Ajax’s head. “Ajax!” he shouted, looking at the fallen eagle.
Ajax slowly got up, his legs wobbling then flew away.
“Ajax?” Peter looked sad that his friend had flown away but glad that Ajax was okay.
Now that they were reunited, the group hugged each other, glad to be with each other again.
When they finally explained what had happened to all of them, it was getting close to night.
They set up camp, Luke making the fire while Skylar and Alice got the food, Helen, Richard, and Peter unpacking what they’d all brought.
“Alice figured out where we need to go next,” Peter praised Alice, who smiled a little, embarrassed of the attention.
“Well,” Alice explained, “It said that we must go to the forsaken kingdom, which means the abandoned kingdom. Dueglestein is the kingdom that is chasing us, so they abandoned or forsake their kingdom. We have to go to Dueglestein.”
“But how?” Richard asked, “We don’t even know where we are!”
“Yes, ve do.” Adalene pulled out a map from her cloak and set it on the ground in front of them. On it was a map of all of Iddenu, including Bellona, Hilgaria, Thuron, and Dueglestein. There were some markings on it that Alice didn’t understand, representing different areas in the different countries.
“Wait, you know where the Secret Woods is?” Skylar asked, pointing to an icon that had a house in a tree, symbolizing the Secret Woods.
“Yes,” Adalene smiled, “Ve have known for a long time.”
Adalene now pointed to where they were near the border of Hilgaria, right by the sea. “Zis, is vhere ve are.”
She traced a path from Hilgaria through the sea and to Dueglestein. “Zis is our best path to get to Dueglestein. It’s quick, safe, and should keep zem of our backs.”
“Really?” Richard’s eyebrows shot up, “It’s so far. How will we possibly get there in time?”
Adalene bit the inside of her cheek for a moment, thinking of what to say. “It is ze quickest vay to Dueglestein. If ve go anywhere else, ve vill not make it in time or you vill be captured before reaching your destination.”
There was silence as everyone sat with that thought.
“Well, how are we going to get there?” Helen asked what they’d all been thinking.
“Easy,” Adalene answered, “By boat."
