After school, I decided to check on my Grandma Rosey for the afternoon. She was not too far so I took a slow walk observing the neighborhood and kicking any rocks in front of me. Approaching her home, I called her out loud but there was no answer, so I decided to wait for a few minutes to see if she will come by. In the distance, I saw her yellow hat and the yellow rubber boots she likes to wear. I could tell she was gardening, but apparently she left to get some plants in the nearby shop. "James darling you're here." she continued, "Poor thing you must be hungry." I followed her inside. It still smelled like the cookies she was baking. "Chocolate chips!" she exclaimed, "Want some Jamesy?" My mouth watered as she pulled them out of the oven. She pulled my favorite green plate with the white lining around it and placed exactly six cookies and a huge cup of milk at the side. "You're the best grandma!" I said and she chuckled. We spoke for a while until it was time for me to go. I grabbed my bag and quickly told her bye, making my way to the front door. "Jamesy wait!" She pulled out her fanny pack and pull out a crisp 20-dollar bill. "For you grandson," she said. I took the bill and hugged her. Her warmth made me feel better and almost made me cry. Almost. I opened the door and smiled knowing that my belly was full, had money, and felt loved.
